CA 9.10 <br /> CA 80.17 <br /> <br />GREETINGS FROM NORWAY Mrs. Susan Brenner, <br />SUSAN BRENNER the choral director <br /> of the Norwegian- <br /> American Song Festival, <br />brought warm greetings to the City of Santa Ana from the <br />city officials of Sandefjord, Norway, where Mrs. Brenner held <br />the Second Annual Norwegian-American Song Festival. With <br />Mrs. Brenner were four of her participants, who each expressed <br />her feelings about the experience in Norway. Mrs~ Brenner <br />presented a plaque from Sandefjord to Mayor John Garthe, <br />and also brought one for Vice Mayor Vernon S. Evans, who <br />was Mayor when the first Festival was held. CA 9.3 <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING Mayor Garthe announced <br />UNDERGROUND UTILITY that this was the time <br />DISTRICT #7 and place for the <br /> public hearing to <br />consider the establishment of Underground Utility District #7 <br />- Seventeenth Street between Santa Aha Freeway and Wright <br />Street, and Grand Avenue between Seventeenth Street and <br />Santa Clara Avenue. <br /> <br />Mr. Ronald Wolford, Director of Public Works, stated that this <br />project is a continuance of the program which has been under <br />way for some years, and which has been coordinated with a <br />street widening project; that the Edison Company wishes to <br />increase the service facilities serving the south part of Santa <br />Aha, and that this could be best facilitated by including Grand <br />Avenue in the undergrounding project already planned for <br />Seventeenth Street; that some property owners would incur <br />costs from $290 to $2,600; and that all affected property <br />owners have been notified-of this hearing. <br /> <br />Mr. Gene Carter of the Southern California Edison Company, <br />601 West Civic Center Drive, stated that to service other <br />areas of Santa Ana, the Edison Company would either have to <br />load up the existing poles on Grand Avenue or install addi- <br />tional poles; and that this would be a good time to go under- <br />ground, and eliminate all the poles. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />442 OCTOBER 13, 1975 <br /> <br /> <br />
