RECESS At 4:30 P.M. Mayor <br />HOUSING AUTHORITY Garthe recessed the <br /> meeting of the City <br /> Council for a <br />meeting of the Housing Authority; the Council meeting was <br />reconvened at 4:32 P.M., at which time the meeting was <br />immediately recessed for dinner, and at 7:30 P.M. reconvened <br />with all Council members present. <br /> <br />INVOCATION The Pledge of Alle- <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE giance to the Flag, <br /> led by Girl Scout <br /> Troop #586, Mrs. <br />Shirley Leisge, Leader, was followed by the Invocation <br />by Dr. John E. Fisk of the North Side Church of Christ. CA 9.10 <br /> CA 80.17 <br /> <br />COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT Mr. William Pasley, <br />& PROCLAMATION President of the <br />SANTA ANA KIWANIS CLUB Santa Ana Kiwanis <br /> Club, described the <br />Club as having started January 21, 1915 in Detroit, and <br />becoming an international order in 1924; he stated that <br />at the present time there are over 280,000 members in <br />6,500 Clubs in 48 countries; that the Kiwanis members work <br />a great deal with the youth of the community, sponsoring <br />the Circle K Key Clubs and Kiwanettes; that the Santa Aha <br />Club was chartered October 20, 1920 with 43 members; and <br />that the 130 members at present annually raise over $10,000 <br />for support of the Kiwanis Foundation, which provides <br />scholarships, and sponsors a multitude of other functions <br />and programs. <br /> <br />Mayor Garthe congratulated Mr. Pasley on the fine work of <br />the Santa Ana Kiwanis Club, and presented him with a City <br />Seal tile acknowledging the City's appreciation. The Mayor <br />also presented to Mr. Pasley a Proclamation of "Santa Aha <br />Kiwanis Club Week", recommending citizen support of the <br />activities of the Kiwanis Club. CA <br /> <br />9.3 <br /> <br />SPECIAL AWARD Major Warren Johnson, <br />TO CITY EMPLOYEES Regional Commander <br />FROM UNITED WAY of the Salvation Army, <br /> acting on behalf of <br />the United Way, presented a Special Award to Mayor Garthe <br />for the employees of the City of Santa Aha in appreciation <br />for the funds donated to the United Way in its recent fund <br />drives. He said that the generous donations :reflected love <br />for others and for the community. CA <br /> <br />73A <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING - APPEAL #360 Mayor Garthe announced <br />NEGATIVE DECLARATION ~ VA 75-68 that this was the time <br />APPEAL DENIED; ADOPTED RES. 76-27 and place for the pub- <br /> lic hearing of Appeal <br />No. ~60, filed by the Applicant, Dr. David H.
