BIKE LANES COLOR MARKINGS Council concurred <br />REFERRAL ITEM #6-76 with the recommenda- <br />FILED; DELETED tion of the Traffic <br /> Engineer, Joe Foust, <br />that the six-inch white stripe is best suited for bike <br />lane markings, and the Resolution of the City of La Mirada <br />was received and filed, and Council Referral Item #6-76 <br />deleted, on the motion of Councilman Evans, seconded by <br />Councilman Yamamoto, and carried (6:0) unanimously. CA 18.6 <br /> <br />"NO PARKING" SIGNS REMOVED The report of Deputy <br />REFERRAL ITEM #10-76 City Manager G. David <br />FILED; DELETED Tayco regarding the <br /> removal of "No Parking" <br />Signs in the alley west of Bristol, Santa Clara to Santiago <br />Creek, as requested in a letter from Betty R. Byerl7, 2518 <br />North Bristol which was referred to Staff by Council on <br />February 17, 1976, was received and filed, and Council Refer- <br />ral Item #10-76 was deleted, on the unanimously carried (6:0) <br />motion of Councilman Evans, seconded by Councilman Ward. CA 18.3 <br /> <br />OFFICE SPACE ALLOCATIONS The report prepared by <br />REFERRAL ITEM #5-76 Director of Community <br />FILEp; DELETED Relations Peter Grams, <br /> dated February 24, <br />1976, detailing an interim solution to the overcrowding of <br />the Housing Authority Staff, pending completion of a City <br />Hall space study, was received and filed, and Council Refer- <br />ral Item #5-76 was deleted, on the motion of Councilman <br />Yamamoto, seconded by Councilman Ortiz, and carried (5:1), <br />with Councilman Evans dissenting. CA 77 <br /> <br />BIDDING PROCESS - DOCUMENT The bids of Mauchly- <br />STORAGE & RETRIEVAL CONTRACT Wood and Arthur Young <br />REFERRED & Co. were rejected <br /> on the basis that they <br />are not responsible to perform this contract, and Staff was <br />directed to negotiate with the remaining three responsible <br />bidders, and present to Council a recommendation for award, <br />on the motion of Councilman Brandt, seconded by Councilman <br />Evans, and carried (6:0) unanimously. The motion followed <br />an oral review of the events leading up to this point, as <br />outlined in the City Attorney's report dated February <br />1976. CA 89 <br /> <br />HIRING MORATORIUM EXEMPTION The exemption of <br />EQUIPMENT MECHANIC I Equipment Mechanic <br />APPROVED I from the hiring <br /> moratorium was <br />approved and filling the vacancy authorized, on the motion <br />of Councilman Yamamoto, seconded by Councilman Ward, and <br />carried (5:1), with Councilman Evans dissenting. CA <br /> <br />50 <br /> <br />CITY SPONSORSHIP City sponsorship of <br />AQUATICS CLUB OF SANTA ANA the Southern Cali- <br />APPROVED fornia Aquatics Club <br /> of Santa Aha was <br />approved, and the City Attorney was instructed to prepare <br />the appropriate agreement, on the motion of Councilman <br />Yamamoto, seconded by Councilman Brandt, and carried <br />unanimously (6:0).
