Harr, <br /> in a letter dated <br />February 2, 1977, this hearing was continued to February 22, <br />1977, at 7:S0 P.M. on the motion, of Councilman Yamamoto, <br />seconded by Councilman Ward, and carried 5:0 unanimously. <br />[6-foot wall at 2570 North Flower) CA 13.2 <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING UNDERGROUND Mayor Garthe announced <br />UTILITY DISTRICT 14 that this was the time <br />RESOLUTION 77-17 - ADOPTED and place for the public <br /> hearing of the Under- <br />ground Utility District No. 14 between First Street and Third <br />Street from Ross Street to Van Ness Avenue. <br /> <br />John Stevens, Public Works Director, stated that the area <br />between First Street, Third Street, from Ross Street to Van <br />Ness Street is proposed as a housing renewal area where con- <br />struction of a housing project for the elderly is under way; <br />that for the aesthetic value and for safety of residents, it <br />is proposed that all utility lines be removed and placed under- <br />ground; that the cost will be limited because most of the <br />existing dwellings will be removed; that there will be no cost <br />to the neighbors in the area; that meetings have been held <br />with representatives of the utility companies, and that the <br />Edison Company is generally in favor of the District; and that <br />the Pacific Telephone intends to ask for reimbursement of its <br />estimated $8,000 outlay because it is their opinion that the <br />proposed District is not a bona fide underground utility <br />project. <br /> <br />As there were no speakers on the subject, Mayor Garthe closed <br />the public hearing. <br /> <br />On the unanimously carried 5:0 motion of Councilman Yamamoto, <br />seconded by Councilman Ward, the following resolution was <br />adopted: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-19 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA ESTABLISHING <br />UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 14. <br /> <br />CA 134 <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING HUMAN RELATIONS As requested by Council- <br />COMMISSION REORGANIZATION man David Brandt, and <br />CONTINUED Vice Mayor Vernon Evans, <br /> the Human Relations <br />Commission Reorganization proposal was continued to February 22, <br />1977 at ?:SO P.M. on the motion of Councilman Ortiz, seconded <br />by Councilman Ward, and carried S:0 unanimously.
