POLICE FACILITY SPACE NEEDS Based on an oral report <br />PLANNING CITIZENS' ADVISORY by Police Chief Raymond <br />COMMITTEE AUTHORIZED Davis and Captain J. L. <br /> Dittman, and a report <br />dated September 14, 1977, prepared by Captain Dittman, formation <br />of Citizens' Advisory Committee (including members of the existing <br />ad hoc Committee) was authorized to recommend to Council its <br />judgment of the police facility space needs, a suitable site for <br />a new facility, a design philosophy, and possible funding sources, <br />on the motion of Councilman Garthe, seconded by Councilman Ortiz <br />and carried 5:0 unanimously. Councilmen informally agreed to <br />appoint a Councilman as Chairman at the next Council Meeting. <br />Councilmen expressed the desire that the Advisory Committee <br />would explore and develop the alternatives to the construction <br />of a new facility for the Police Department. (Project 1404) <br /> <br />A-77-111 <br />CA 65.3 <br /> <br />IMPLEMENTATION OF LOGAN AREA Consideration of the im- <br />PROPOSALS plementation plan for the <br />CONTINUED Logan Area proposals was <br /> continued to October 3, <br />1977, on the motion of Councilman Ortiz, seconded by Councilman <br />Yamamoto and carried 4:1 with Councilman Bricken dissenting. <br />There was concern that the full Council be present for considera- <br />tion of this matter. <br /> CA 78.6 <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />BOARD & COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS <br />COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> <br />appointed to the Library Board to <br />Jack Larson ending June 30, 1978, <br /> <br />On the motion of Councilman <br />Bricken, seconded by Council- <br />man Ward, carried 5:0 unani- <br />mously, Irma Gutierrez was <br />complete the term vacated by <br />subject to confirmation at the <br /> <br />next Council meeting. Manuel Barron was recommended for re- <br />appointment for a new term ending August 1, 1981 on the Human <br />Relations Commission, subject to confirmation, on the motion of <br />Councilman Bricken, seconded by Councilman Garthe and carried <br />5:0 unanimously. Councilman Ortiz reminded Council that there is <br />no representative on the Human Relations Commission from Ward 6 <br />and that he would have a recommendation for that seat for con- <br />sideration prior to confirmation of Mr. Barron.
