POLICE FACILITY SPACE NEEDS Based on an oral report PLANNING CITIZENS' ADVISORY by Police Chief Raymond COMMITTEE AUTHORIZED Davis and Captain J. L. Dittman, and a report dated September 14, 1977, prepared by Captain Dittman, formation of Citizens' Advisory Committee (including members of the existing ad hoc Committee) was authorized to recommend to Council its judgment of the police facility space needs, a suitable site for a new facility, a design philosophy, and possible funding sources, on the motion of Councilman Garthe, seconded by Councilman Ortiz and carried 5:0 unanimously. Councilmen informally agreed to appoint a Councilman as Chairman at the next Council Meeting. Councilmen expressed the desire that the Advisory Committee would explore and develop the alternatives to the construction of a new facility for the Police Department. CA ??; CA 47 PROJECT 1404 - WIDEN RAILROAD CROSSING AT SEGERSTROM AVENUE - APPROPRIATION ADJUSTMENT NO. 20- HIGHWAY ~EASEMENT AND CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT APPROVED documents as required: On the motion of Councilman Bricken, seconded by Council- man Garthe, carried $:0 unanimously, the Council approved the following and authorized the Mayor and Clerk to execute related Appropriation Adjustment No. 20 to transfer $21,100 from Select Street Contingency to Project 1404, and Highway Easement and Construction and Maintenance Agreement between City and Southern Pacific Trans- portation Company to provide for the widening of the railroad crossing at Segerstrom Avenue. (Project 1404) A-77-111 CA 65.3 IMPLEMENTATION OF LOGAN AREA Consideration of the im- PROPOSALS plementation plan for the CONTINUED Logan Area proposals was continued to October 3, 1977, on the motion of Councilman Ortiz, seconded by Councilman Yamamoto and carried 4:1 with Councilman Bricken dissenting. There was concern that the full Council be present for considera- tion of this matter. CA 78.6 ORAL COMMUNICATIONS BOARD & COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS appointed to the Library Board to Jack Larson ending June 30, 1978, On the motion of Councilman Bricken, seconded by Council- man Ward, carried 5:0 unani- mously, Irma Gutierrez was complete the term vacated by subject to confirmation at the next Council meeting. Manuel Barron was recommended for re- appointment for a new term ending August 1, 1981 on the Human Relations Commission, subject to confirmation, on the motion of Councilman Bricken, seconded by Councilman Garthe and carried 5:0 unanimously. Councilman Ortiz reminded Council that there is no representative on the Human Relations Commission from Ward 6 and that he would have a recommendation for that seat for con- sideration prior to confirmation of Mr. Barron. CA 56.1 CA 151.Z RECESS Restaurant where a status report on building was given by Tom McMichael; at 7:30 p.m. At 4:03 p.m. the Council Meeting was recessed for other meetings and for Dinner at the Hungry Tiger the proposed Federal Court the meeting was reconvened with Mayor Evans absent.
