STATUS REPORT - SANTIAGO STREET The detailed, comprehen- <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL MEASURES sire report dated October <br />RECEIVED & FILED; STAFF DIRECTED 1978 prepared by Traffic <br /> Engineer Tom Brohard <br />entitled "Santiago Street Traffic Control Measures - Status <br />Report", was received and filed, and Staff was directed to <br />continue monitoring Santiago Street traffic, on the unanimously <br />approved 6:0 motion of Councilman Bricken, seconded by Council- <br />man Ward. Topics discussed in the report are Santiago Street <br />Traffic Volumes and Patterns; Additional Disincentives such as <br />stop signs, redesign of Santiago-Memory Lane Intersection, One- <br />way Street Patterns and Diverters; Traffic Volume Projection; <br />Lincoln Avenue Extension; and Future Role of Valencia Avenue. <br />The report stated that a decrease in volume of daily through <br />t~ps has occurred on Santiago Street and that additional <br />disincentives are not recommended at this time. CA 18.9 <br /> <br />26, <br /> <br />PROPERTY LOSS FROM FAILURE OF Council authorized the <br />BURGLAR ALARM AT BOWERS MUSEUM City Attorney to file a <br />LAWSUIT AUTHORIZED lawsuit against all <br /> possible defendants for <br />recovery of damages for loss of property at Bowers Museum due <br />to the failure of the burglar alarm to activate in February <br />1978, on the unanimously carried 6:0 motion of Councilman <br />Brandt, seconded by Councilman Garthe, pursuant to the recom- <br />mendation of Deputy City Attorney Doris M. Felman contained in <br />the report dated October 26, 1978. CA 159 <br /> <br />EMPLOYEES VACANCY LIST The monthly employees <br />RECEIVED & FILED vacancy list showing <br /> 75 vacancies in full- <br /> time positions, plus <br />two vacancies in full-time positions in the office of the <br />Clerk of the Council, was received and filed on the unanimously <br />approved 6:0 motion of Councilman Ward, seconded by Councilman <br />Brandt. The report listed 17 Non-General Fund vacancies and <br />10 anticipated vacancies. CA 50 <br /> <br />LOGAN EIR UPDATE REPORT FILED Council received and <br />AMENDMENT TO ECOS AGREEMENT filed the report from <br />APPROVED the Planning Department <br /> dated October 31, 1978 <br />entitled "Logan Neighborhood Update", and approved an amend- <br />ment to the contract between City and ECOS for preparation of <br />an environmental impact report for potential rezoning, general <br />plan amendment and modification of a specific street alignment <br />in the Logan Neighborhood, to provide for a time extension and <br />modification to the method of compensation as recommended in the <br />report, on the unanimously carried 6:0 motion of Councilman <br />Bricken, seconded by Councilman Ward. A-78-74 <br /> CA 78.6 <br /> <br />NEW RESTROOM FACILITIES On the unanimously <br />BIRCH PARK - REFERRAL #30-78 1 approved motion of <br />DELETED; RECOMMENDATION APPROVED Councilman Ward, <br /> seconded by Councilman <br />Garthe, Council approved the recommendation contained in the <br />report dated October 31, 1978 prepared by Dennis Yata and Dan <br />Stone, Management Analyst and Assistant City Manager respec- <br />tively, and deleted Referral Item No. 30-?8 from the Summary. <br />The recommendation was that Council consider the construction <br />of restrooms in Birch Park only in conjunction with the proposed <br />park expansion and the Redevelopment Agency's proposed Second <br />Street Mall construction, and that continued increased police <br />patrol of the park. be approved.
