<br />. . <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />In response to another question raised by Mr. Acosta, the <br />Community Development Director responded that the neigh- <br />borhood had a primary concern that the park maintain its <br />current character for family use. The neighborhood was <br />concerned that the seniors would come in and change the <br />character of the park. <br /> <br />After a brief discussion, a motion was made by Mr. Griset, <br />seconded by Mrs. McGuigan and carried by a 5:1 vote (Mr. <br />Markel casting the "NO" vote) to grant Brichpark Associates <br />a three-month exclusive right to negotiate for the <br />development of the A-I site subject to the payment of <br />$15,000 to cover one-half of the Agency cost of appraisal <br />and economic analysis. <br /> <br />DEVELOPER SELECTION FOR THE A-5 DEVELOPMENT SITE <br /> <br />The Community Development Director stated that in mid 1982, <br />the Redevelopment Agency authorized staff to solicit <br />developer qualifications for the A-5 development site. <br />Three companies out of nearly 300 proposals that were sent <br />out responded. They are: The San Clemente Corporation, <br />Urbatec and the Santa Anita Development Corporation. The <br />Santa Anita Development Corporation withdrew from consid- <br />eration before the Development Team review was scheduled. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On November 10,1982, the Development Team met to consider <br />and rank the two proposals based on the available <br />information supplied by the applicants. The Urbatec <br />proposal received a total of 397 out of a possible of 600 <br />points and the San Clemente Development Group received a <br />score of 233 out of a possible 600 points.
