Bishop <br /> <br />Ms. Maxey also presented a petition containing 680 signatures in opposition <br />to this project, to Council. <br /> <br />MOTION was made by Bricken, seconded by Ward, to receive and file the <br />petition. <br /> <br />Motion passed on the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Bricken, Griset, Luxembourger, Markel, Serrato, <br /> Ward, Yamamoto <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />Following length discussion, MOTION was made by Yamamoto, seconded by <br />Bricken, to authorize the City Attorney to institute suit against the <br />City of Orange, prior to January 15, 1981, to protect the City of Santa <br />Ana from adverse impacts of the proposed Continental Center Project. <br /> <br />Motion passed on the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Bricken, Griset, Luxembourger, Serrato, Ward, Yamamoto <br />Markel <br />None <br /> <br />CA 139.1 <br /> <br />The Council recessed at 8:30 p.m and reconvened at 8:40 p.m., with the same <br />members present. <br /> <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />7TH YEAR BUDGET APPROVED AS MODIFIED <br /> <br />The City Manager reviewed the <br />revised budget. <br /> <br />Helen Brown, Vice President of Civic Center Barrio, answered questions posed <br />by Council regarding the proposed allocation to Civic Center Barrio. <br /> <br />Following discussion, MOTION was made by Bricken, seconded by Serrato, <br />to adopt the proposed budget as amended with the following modifications: <br /> <br />1. Inclusion of specific allocations to the Santa Ana Historic <br /> Trust and to the Civic Center Barrio. <br /> <br />2. Adjustment of Local Street Reconstruction to include Newhope <br /> Street. <br /> <br />3. Increase contingency fund to five (5%) percent of total budget. <br /> <br />4. Investigation of matching funds for bike trail improvements. <br /> <br />Motion passed on the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Bricken, Luxembourger, Markel, Serrato, Ward, Yamamoto <br />Griset <br />None <br /> <br />CA 140.20 <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING - ALLEY <br />ABANDONMENT #49 - E/W ALLEY <br />BETWEEN 3RD & 4TH STS <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-8 ADOPTED <br /> <br />from Ross to Birch Streets. <br /> <br />The Mayor announced that this <br />was the time and place for the <br />public hearing of the proposed <br />vacation of the east-west alley <br />between Third and Fourth Streets, <br /> <br />The Planning Director presented the staff report and recommendations. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council reported there were no written communications. <br /> <br />There were no speakers on the matter.
