AGENDA ORDER <br />AFTERNOON ITEMS <br />CONTINUED TO EVENING <br /> <br />By unanimous informal consent, <br />all remaining afternoon agenda <br />items were continued to the <br />evening session. <br /> <br />DINNER RECESS At 5:22 p.m. Council recessed <br />RECONVENED to dinner with the Architectural <br /> Review Board for Redevelopment <br />Project Area at Ristorante Ervino, 2431 North Tustin Avenue. The meeting <br />was reconvened in the Council Cha~ers at 7:45 p.m., with the same members <br />present but Councilman Markel. <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />Following the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag, the Invocation was <br />given by Councilman Yamamoto. <br /> <br />COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT Roslyn Nehls, Program Manager of <br /> the Sugar Ray Youth Foundation, <br /> addressed Council and reviewed <br /> the workings of the Foundation, <br />explaining that a variety of activities are available for youths such as <br />athletics, arts, and crafts. The organization is in its sixth year, <br />presently is five sites functioning, and is working toward expanding <br />its programs in the future. Ms. Nehls was presented with a City seal <br />tile plaque by the Mayor as an expression of Council's appreciation for <br />the valuable services performed by the Sugar Ray Youth Foundation. CA 9.3 <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS Councilman Griset presented <br />EVERETT WINTERS - FORMER PLANNING Everett Winters with an engraved <br />COMMISSIONER; ROBERT J. VERMAN, City seal tile plaque, expressing <br />FOSTER & KLEISER Council's appreciation for Mr. <br /> Winter's eight years of service <br />to the City as a member of the Planning Commission. Mr. Winters thanked <br />Council and expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to serve the <br />City in this capacity. <br /> <br />Robert J. Verman, Public Relations Representative of Foster & Kleiser, <br />was presented with an engraved City seal tile plaque by Councilman Bricken, <br />for that company's outstanding efforts towards publicizing the City's <br />Community-Oriented Policing Program. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING - EX 80-50 In accordance with a written <br />3950 S. MAIN ST request from P. R. Miller, <br />CONTINUED TO 2/2/81 General Manager, "Hoagy's Corner", <br /> to postpone this hearing in order <br />to review and respond to objections being raised by the City, MOTION was <br />made by Bricken, seconded by Luxembourger, to continue the matter to <br />February 2, 1981. <br /> <br />Motion passed on the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Bricken, Griset, Luxembourger, Serrato, Ward, Yamamoto <br />None <br />Markel <br /> <br />CA 13.2 <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING - APPEAL NO. 430 The Mayor announced that this <br />WA 80-5 - 4609-4613 W.
