<br />2.3.4.3 Identify, by discipline, the number of emergency personnel <br />who need training, and the specific courses that are needed to <br />increase their ability to respond to a WMD/CBRNE terrorism <br />incident. <br /> <br />2.3.4.4 Assess the training needs for each discipline addressing the <br />three WMD/CBRNE training levels (Awareness, Performance, <br />and Planning/Management). <br /> <br />2.3.4.4.1 For each WMD/CBRNE training level there will be three <br />assessment inquiries: <br /> <br />2.3.4.4.1.1 The number of personnel within each discipline that <br />desires to be WMD/CBRNE trained. <br /> <br />2.3.4.4.1.2 The number of personnel who are currently <br />WMD/CBRNE trained. <br /> <br />2.3.4.4.1.3 Number of personnel who are not WMD/CBRNE <br />trained to the desired level. <br /> <br />2.3.4.5 New Training Levels <br /> <br />2.3.4.5.1 Awareness Training Level <br /> <br />Awareness Training Level: Addresses training needs <br />for emergency responders who are likely to witness or <br />discover an incident involving the terrorist/criminal use <br />of WMD/CBRNE or who may be sent out to initially <br />respond or support the response to the report of such <br />an incident. Generally, all actions to be taken by these <br />individuals should be conducted from within the cold <br />zone. Should personnel find themselves in the warm <br />or hot zones, they are to remove themselves and to <br />encourage others, if ambulatory, to move to a staging <br />area away from the immediate threat and attempt to <br />minimize further contamination. The requisite <br />competencies for this level of training are to recognize <br />(RECOGNITION) a WMD/CBRNE terrorism incident <br />and to notify (NOTIFICATION) appropriate authorities <br />of the incident. <br /> <br />2.3.4.5.2Performance training levels <br /> <br />Performance training level: Addresses training needs <br />for emergency responders who will be responding to <br />or supporting the response to the scene of a potential <br />WMD/CBRNE terrorism incident or hazardous <br />materials incident for the purpose of protecting nearby <br />persons, property, or the environment from the effects <br />of the incident.
