b. Dry pack with nonshrink grout around raceways that penetrate concrete
walls, floors, or ceilings aboveground, or use one of the methods specified
for underground penetrations.
C. Where an underground conduit enters a structure through a concrete roof or
a membrane waterproofed wall or floor, provide an acceptable, malleable
iron, watertight, entrance sealing device. When there is no raceway
concrete encasement specified or indicated, provide such device having a
gland type sealing assembly at each end with pressure bushings that may
be tightened at any time. When there is raceway concrete encasement
specified or indicated, provide such a device with a gland type sealing
assembly on the accessible side. Securely anchor all such devices into the
masonry construction with one or more integral flanges. Secure membrane
waterproofing to such devices in a permanently watertight manner.
d. Where an underground raceway without concrete encasement enters a
structure through a nonwaterproofed wall or floor, install a sleeve made of
Schedule 40 galvanized pipe. Fill the space between the conduit and sleeve
with a suitable plastic expandable compound, or an oakum and lead joint, on
each side of the wall or floor in such a manner as to prevent entrance of
moisture. A watertight entrance -sealing device as specified may be used in
lieu of the sleeve.
4. Provide 3/16 inch nylon pull cord in each empty conduit for future use.
5. Use suitable caps to protect installed conduit against entrance of dirt and
moisture during construction.
6.
