Storage Options

DPSI offers three different storage options...
· Open Rack
. Closed Container
· Resident Container

Open Rack Option
Primarily for tape cartridges, the open rack option is used either for active volumes
or for long-term archival storage. Storage charges are based upon the highest
number of slots utilized in a month's time.

Closed Container Option
Should you choose to rotate entire containers, you would list the container code on
the SF. Per the instructions listed, the container would either be cycled back to the
customer as specified, or when the customer calls for its return. The container
remains closed and locked (optional) while in DPSI possession. Storage charges
are based upon the size and quantity of containers.

Resident Container Option
With the increase in media density, entire backups reside on only a few cartridges or
cassettes. Many customers chose to have a single container in storage act as the
host or resident location for multiple backup sets. In some cases this includes
archival media as well. Should you choose the Resident Container Option, these are
the steps that would be involved...

1. Customer labels each item with an DPSI item code label. The item code
label provides; your account number, resident container identifier, and item
serial number. For example, account #1023's cartridge #3, in container #6
would read:

rlll.lllllnlgllllllllll'~
L 1023-0006-003

2. Customer prepares SF.

3. DPSI Courier places item(s) into a secure media transfer container for
transport back to DPSI.
4. DPSI places item(s) into your accounts resident container.

Per the instructions listed the items will be cycled back to the customer as specified
or as when the customer calls for their return.

3
