<br />Euclid Street Zone Change/Subdivision ER 2005-138 <br /> <br />The Santa Ana Police Department would provide police <br />protection services for the proposed proj ect. The Police <br />Department is headquartered at 60 Civic Center Plaza. The <br />City of Santa Ana is subdivided into four policing <br />districts, with each district serving a section of the <br />Ci ty. The proposed proj ect is located wi thin the Westend <br />District. <br /> <br />Implementation of the proposed project would increase <br />minimally the demand for police protection services. The <br />Santa Ana Police Department has indicated that under <br />existing levels of manpower and equipment, they would have <br />the ability to provide adequate police protection services. <br /> <br />School Facilities: Potentially Significant <br />~tigation Incorporated <br /> <br />Unless <br /> <br />The proj ect site is wi thin the boundaries of the Garden <br />Grove School District. The proposed project would increase <br />the number of students at nearby schools and would <br />contribute to increase demand for school services. The <br />project would be subject to school impact fees to fund the <br />enhancement of existing school facilities or for the <br />construction of new school facilities. The payment of <br />school impact fees to the Garden Grove School District <br />would mitigate proj ect-related impacts to school services <br />to a level considered less than significant. <br /> <br />Mitigation Measure <br /> <br />· Prior to the issuance of building permits, the project <br />developer shall submit evidence to the City of Santa <br />Ana of a fee payment between the developer and the <br />Garden Grove School District to offset school facility <br />related impacts. <br /> <br />Parks: Less Than Significant <br /> <br />The City of Santa Ana presently operates 35 facilities <br />within its parks and recreation network, along with several <br />public school grounds. The park and recreation facilities <br />within the City of Santa Ana include 342.5 acres of lands, <br />which is equivalent to approximately one acre per 1,000 <br />residents. According to the City's General Plan Land Use <br />Element EIR, the City's current goal for parkland is 2.0 <br />acres per 1,000 residents.
