An emvlovee <br />shall work eil?ht days for nine hours ver day and one day for eight hours, <br />excludinf! a one-hour lunch durinl? each work shift. totalinl? fortv (40) <br />workinf! hours in each FLSA work week. <br /> <br />a. The Work Week Period. The forty (40) hour FLSA work week veriod <br />shall be defined as the work veriod startinff from Fridav at mid-shift <br />to Fridav at mid shin. No emvlovee workinf! the 9/80 work schedule <br />will be able to flex their Fridav start time nor the time they take their <br />lunch break. which will occur in the middle of the day on Fridavs. <br /> <br />b. The 9/80 Work Period. The 9/80 two week work veriod for <br />emvlovees starts Fridav mid shift and continues for fourteen (J4) <br />days until Fridav mid shift. Durinf! this veriod. each week is made <br />uv offour nine-hour work days (thirtv-six hours) and one four-hour <br />Fridav and those hours eQual fortv work hours in each work week <br />(e.I?. the Fridav is svW into four hours for the first shin. which is <br />charf!ed to work week one and four hours for the second shift. which <br />is chan:ed to work week two). <br /> <br />c. Emvlovees cannot chanl?e schedules without vrior approval of their <br />suvervisor and Devartment Head. The purvose of this authorization <br />is to review the imvact on staffinf! and overtime. Emvlovees may <br />chanf!e schedules at the bel?inninf! of any work veriod with suvervisor <br />and Devartment Head avvroval. <br /> <br />d. Modifications of the FLSA workweek veriod are not permitted unless <br />authorized bv the Executive Director of Personnel Services and the <br />Citv Manaf!er. <br /> <br />e. Emerl?encies. All emvlovees on the 9/80 work schedule are subiect <br />to be called to work any time to meet any and all emerf!encies or <br />unusual conditions that. in the opinion of the Citv Manaf!er. <br />Devartment Head or designee. may reQuire such service from any of <br />said emvlovees. <br /> <br />2. Overtime Defined. All FLSA nonexemvt emvlovees workinl? under the 9/80 <br />work schedule will earn overtime for all hours worked aner the first fortv <br />(401 hours in an FLSA work week as reQuired under FLSA. Emvlovees are <br />required to obtain suvervisor authorization before workinf! any overtime. <br /> <br />a. Overtime Comvensation: As stated in Section 6.4 of this <br />Memorandum of Understandinl? <br /> <br />b.
