When an employee is 0(( on a scheduled workday under the <br />9/80 work schedule. then nine (9) hours o( elif!ible leave per workday shall <br />be charf!ed af!ainst the employee 's leave balance or eif!ht (8) hours shall be <br />charf!ed i(the dav offis a Fridav. All leaves shall continue under the current <br />accrual. elif!ibility. request and approval requirements. <br /> <br />a. Vacation Leave: As stated in Article IX o( this Memorandum o( <br />Understandinf!. <br /> <br />b. Sick Leave: As stated in Article X of this Memorandum o( <br />Understandinf!. <br /> <br />c. Bereavement Leave: As stated in Article X o(this Memorandum o( <br />Understandinf!. <br /> <br />d. Holidavs: As stated in Article VIII o( this Memorandum of <br />Understandinf!. <br /> <br />L For a recof!nized City holiday, ei,?ht hours. as stated in <br />Article VIII. are earned (or each holiday. For the charf!inf! <br />of hours on a scheduled holidav. the emplovee must use eif!ht <br />(8) hours o( holidav time off and one (/) hour from the <br />emplovee's vacation leave or compensatorv time banks for a <br />nine (9) hour workdav change or eif!ht (8) hours holiday time <br />off(or a Friday. <br /> <br />2. H a holiday falls on an employee's Fridav o(f. the emplovee <br />must then take their holiday off before or arier the ref!ular <br />holiday as their holiday off with supervisor and Department <br />Head approval. Hthe emplovee cannot take their holiday off <br />before or arier the ref!Ular scheduled holiday off the employee <br />will bank eif!ht hours of holiday leave to be used at a later <br />date with the supervisor's approval. <br /> <br />e. Jurv Dutv Leave. The provisions o( the Memorandum of <br />Understandinf! shall continue to apply: however. if an emplovee is <br />called to serve on iurv dutv durinf! a normal Fridav off. Saturday. or <br />Sunday. or on a Otv holiday. then the iurv duty shall be considered <br />the same as havinf! occurred durinf! the employee's day off work; <br />therefore. the employee will receive no added compensation. <br /> <br />It is the intent ofthe parties that no additional paid time off shall be gained or lost as <br />a result of the implementation of either the 4/l0~the 3/11.5 plus 1/5.5. or the 9/80 <br />work schedules. The City reserves the right to abandon either the 411 O. the 3/11.5 <br />plus 115.5. or the 9/80 work schedules for these employees if, in the opinion of the <br /> <br />9 <br />
