<br />50% of the service time specified in Committee <br />Work. <br />7.4 Non-Sworn (Civilian) Paramedics. Employees in the non-sworn <br />classification of Paramedic will be eligible to qualify for <br />and participate in the Career Development Program as set <br />forth below: <br /> <br />A. Civilian Paramedic I: Any Paramedic personnel who <br />attain the educational training and experience <br />qualifications specified below shall be paid an <br />additional ten (10) salary rate ranges (approximately <br />5%) above his or her then current base monthly salary <br />step. The criteria for such designation shall be as <br />follows: <br /> <br />1. Completion of at least sixty (60) college semester <br />units (or equivalent) quarter units) with major <br />coursework in Fire Science, Health Science, <br />Nursing, Emergency Medical Services, Social <br />Services, Administration, Business Management, <br />Computer Science, Physics, Public Health, <br />Occupational Health and Safety, Law, Psychology, <br />Pharmacology, Education, etc., from an accredited <br />college or university; and <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Completion <br />(2) points <br />7.4.Dl) <br /> <br />of four (4) points. A minimum of <br />must be selected from Certificates <br /> <br />two <br />(see <br /> <br />B. Civilian Paramedic II. Any Paramedic personnel who <br />attain the educational training and experience <br />qualifications specified below shall be paid an <br />additional fifteen (15) salary rate ranges <br />(approximately 7.5%) above his or her then current <br />base monthly salary step. The criteria for such <br />designation shall be as follows: <br /> <br />1. Completion of at least ninety (90) college semester <br />units (or equivalent quarter units) with major work <br />in Fire Science, Health Science, Nursing, Emergency <br />Medical Services, Social Services, Administration, <br />Business Management, Computer Science, Physics, <br />Public Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Law, <br />Psychology, Pharmacology, education, etc., from an <br />accredited college or university; and <br /> <br />2. Completion of at least six (6) points. A minimum <br />of four (4) points must be selected from <br />Certificates (7.4 .Dl) and a minimum of one point <br />from Specialized Duty Assignments (see 7.4.D2). <br /> <br />33 <br />
