<br />11.1 <br /> <br />11.2 <br /> <br />ARTICLE XI <br /> <br />11.0 VACATION <br /> <br />Purpose. It is the policy of the City to grant employees <br />vacation leave in order to provide them with a break in <br />their regular work schedule, and this purpose will be used <br />as a guide in the administration of the provisions of this <br />Article. <br /> <br />Regular Vacation Period. <br /> <br />A. All employees, except Fire Services Dispatchers, shall <br />be granted regular vacation at the rate of 10 working <br />days for each of his or her first and second completed <br />year of service, accrued at the rate of six and two- <br />thirds hours for each completed month of service. <br /> <br />After completion of the second year of service, all <br />such employees, except Fire Services Dispatchers, <br />shall be granted regular vacation at the rate of 15 <br />working days for each completed year of service, <br />accrued at the rate of 10 working hours for each <br />completed month of service. <br /> <br />Fire Services Dispatchers assigned to the 12-hour <br />shift schedule are granted regular vacation with pay <br />for the first and second completed years of service at <br />the rate of 10 working days for each completed year of <br />service, which is accrued at the rate of six and two- <br />thirds (6 2/3) hours per month for each completed <br />month of service. <br /> <br />After completion of the second year of service, Fire <br />Services Dispatchers assigned to the 12-hour shift <br />schedule are granted regular vacation with pay at the <br />rate of 10 working days for each completed year of <br />service, which is accrued at the rate of 10 hours per <br />month for each completed month of service. <br /> <br />All employees assigned to the 24 -hour shift schedule <br />are granted regular vacation on the same basis as <br />other full-time employees, except that their standard <br />work unit is a working day of 12 hours. Therefore, <br />such employees are granted regular vacation at an <br />annual rate of 15, 12-hour working days, or seven and <br />one-half, 24-hour work shifts. In those cases when an <br />employee is transferred between the 24-hour shift <br />schedule and the regular 40-hour workweek schedule, <br />the employee's earned vacation, which is accrued in <br /> <br />50 <br />
