CLOSED SESSION REPORT <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Approve the tendering of a settlement to the extent of the City's <br />self-insured retention limit, in the case of Johnson vs. the City of <br />Santa Aha. <br /> <br />MOTION: McGuigan SECOND: Acosta <br /> <br />VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Acosta, Griset, Hart, Johnson, Luxembourger, McGuigan <br />None <br />Young FILE 410.10 <br /> <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BUDGET <br /> <br />The Acting Director of the Economic Development Agency, Cindy Nelson, reviewed <br />the Agency's projected revenues and expenditures for the coming fiscal year, <br />as well as the Agency's operating budget. <br /> <br />The Manager of each of the Agency's major divisions, Redevelopment, Operations <br />and Finance, Real Estate, Business and Industrial Development, Business <br />Improvement District and Housing -- each presented specifics of their <br />respective budgets. <br /> <br />Mayor Griset requested that the Council be provided with a memo relative to <br />the City's relocation actions. <br /> <br />Councilmembers discussed various aspects of the Agency's budget, including <br />such items as the grant to the Economic Development Corporation, the Central <br />City Newsletter, installation of public telephones and mailboxes in the <br />Downtown, alley improvements and Neighborhood Improvement Plans. <br /> <br />The City Manager indicated that he would be instituting performance <br />evaluations with respect to the Neighborhood Improvement Program. He also <br />informed the Council of organizational and personnel changes in the Downtown <br />Development Commission, Special Projects and Real Estate Divisions and noted <br />these changes would be incorporated in the final budget. <br /> <br />The Acting Director of the Economic Development Agency reported that the <br />Agency's operations had been reviewed with the Community Redevelopment <br />Commission, and that a few minor changes would be made to operations as a <br />result of that review. <br /> <br />The Council recessed at 9:46 a.m., and reconvened at 9:54 a.m., with all <br />members present except Mayor Griset and Councilmember Young. <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />J. Ogden Markel, addressed the Council, requesting the assistance of the City <br />in maintaining his property on South Main Street. The Deputy city Manager of <br />Development explained to Council that the property had been inspected, and the <br />tenant informed that his Certificate of Occupancy would be revoked in thirty <br />days if Code violations were not corrected. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 309 JULY 26, 1986 <br /> <br /> <br />
