SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, FIRE DEPARTMENT

REMOTE AccESS ,. PROPOSAL

standard FIT,Notes system and not for the enhanced SCBA monitoring system interface.
The above yearly upgrades and maintenance include any and all upgrades of FIT-Notes
only software. If the FIT-Notes/SCBA interface is successful and the Department wishes
to purchase this feature, the cost to the Department would be the difference only of this
feature and not for any FIT-Notes upgrades (e.g., if next year FIT-Notes is $1200 per
license and the Enhanced FIT-Notes/SCBA is $1800, the Department could purchase
this upgrade version for $600 per license since the basic upgrade had already been
purchased).

2. Professional Services

2.1. Drawing Conversion and Linkage

Based on the number of preplans identified by the Department and defined in Section C,
Group 1 will digitize "A" size (8Y:." x 11") paper drawings into the AutoCAD@ .DWG file
format. The follow work tasks will be completed during the drawing conversion process:
. Group 1 will present the Department a "Standards" document that shows the setup
and layout of a typical preplan drawing after conversion. Group 1 will meet, either
on-site or via telephone, to review and agree to a final layout that will be used for all
converted drawings. The meeting will include a review of the original paper
drawings, determination of what information should be reflected on the digitized
drawings, establish standard symbols to be used (e.g., National Fire Protection
Association symbols), and to discuss and agree on other related issues.
. Group 1 will convert an initial batch of paper based preplan drawings provided by the
Department, using the agreed to standards, and return those to the Department's
representative for review and modification, if needed. This task ensures that both
parties understand the desired layout of the final preplan drawings and minimizes
delays during continuing conversion efforts. Group 1 will review and correct the
converted drawings using the Quality Control (QG) methods described in the
following section.
. After agreement on the test batch of drawings, Group 1 will process the remaining
drawings in batches as provided by the Department. Delays in receipt of paper
preplans drawing for conversion from the Department may result in overall project
delays,
. After the converted drawings have been checked and internally verified, Group 1 will
then create a location or Company Record in the REMOTE AccESS '" database, and the
converted preplans for that location will be linked to the Company Record in the
database. Links will be created using on of the following manners:
c Group 1 will create a Company Records that is associated to exact map address
when the exact address is found on one of the provided and configured address-
aware map layer(s).
c If an exact address is not found on the address-aware map layer(s), a Company
Record will be created using a system-assigned temporary location ID number.
These temporary Company Records will be discussed with the Department
during the initial installation. The Department will be responsible to update the
links once the missing address has been established on the map layer(s),
typically through map updates provided by the Department's GIS materials.

~ GROUP 1 SOLUTIONS.
