Summary of Drug Policy <br />The provisions of this Policy shall apply in addition to, and shall be subordinated to, any <br />requirements imposed by applicable federal, state or local laws, regulations, or judicial <br />decision. A Taxi Cab shall cooperate fully with law enforcement official's investigation in <br />violations of federal, state or local law <br />Drugs and alcohol abuse are the scourge of modern times. Over fifty percent (50 %) of all <br />traffic accidents are drug and alcohol related. <br />A Taxi Cab recognizes our public safety responsibility inherent in transporting the public. <br />Likewise we recognize the prevalence, almost epidemic proportions, of drug and alcohol <br />abuse in our society. Therefore A Taxi Cab has a zero tolerance policy toward alcohol and <br />drug abuse. <br />All drivers at A Taxi Cab are subject to drug and alcohol screening. Any refusal or evasion <br />of this test is a violation of the lease agreement and that agreement will be terminated imme- <br />diately. <br />A Taxi Cab does not interfere with the conduct of the private lives of our drivers. However, <br />where that conduct endangers the public safety and the driver's ability to function we have <br />the right and responsibility to protect the public safety and refuse to lease a cab. <br />Skill Testine <br />The training manager is responsible for the skill testing of all drivers. Each driver must <br />complete a training module with the training manager. The attached training manual con- <br />tains driver testing on the areas of Thomas Guide, Service skills, and area familiarity. The <br />driver trainer is responsible for completing a basic skills assessment, along with the training <br />manager, at the end of training. <br />The training manager is also responsible for the skill testing of current drivers with each <br />driver required to undergo an assessment for each year of service. <br />Disciplinary Policy <br />The General Manager is responsible for complaint resolution and disciplinary action / cor- <br />rection . All complaints are a serious issue. A thorough investigation will be undertaken to <br />gather all facts and documentation of any offense for proper action. <br />A Taxi Cab places a high priority on compliance with its procedures and customer service <br />philosophy.
