Mr. Nabati has successfully parlayed his experience in fleet management into a stable Cali-
fornia Corporation. He has led the bare bones operation of a few taxis in 1986, into a pro-
fessional taxi operation - A White and Yellow Cab Inc. The nearly 20 years of experience in
the taxi industry has qualified Mr. Nabati as an entrepreneur in his field. His previous 15
years of fleet management before that, has ensured peak efficiency and safety of his taxi fleet
to this day. He has always maintained direct day -to -day control of his company.
As a hands on President, he has pioneered several changes in the Orange County taxi mar-
ket. His company was the first in Orange County to require a driver dress code and uniforms
for certain contracts. He became the first taxi operator in Orange County to directly offer
wheelchair accessible service through his fleet. Pioneering use of recruiting ads in ethnic
newspapers helped him acquire a diverse fleet of drivers, from Korean and Latino newspa-
pers to smaller minority newspapers. The implementation of mini -vans as taxis for their
higher capacity at the same price as a regular taxi and implementation of the Lincoln Town
Car that featured a lower step for fiail and elderly passengers, allowed his market share to
continually grow. He is also the father of "credit' for his drivers, that allow them to take
sick time off and the equivalent of paid vacations. His purchase of the DDS dispatch system
in 2000 made him the fast taxi company to have GPS dispatch available, with a computer
dispatch system. All in all, W. Nabati is a pioneer in his field, yet takes little public credit.
While Mr. Nabati has been members of several Chambers of Commerce, either directly or
indirectly, he has never actively sought membership in professional organizations. His
philosophy has been simple: study others and implement the best of all worlds. Be open to
new ideas, spot trends, and identify what works - "Why spend time highlighting your name
or resume when you can run your business in a professional manner."
Advisory Board Member -Bill Trop CPA
Bill Trop is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in California.
