PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />The following individuals spoke in opposition to a Logan area rezoning request to change a <br />residential use to industrial pending Council action: <br /> <br />Philip Flores <br />Josephine Andrade <br />Samuel Romero <br />Edward Solis <br />Frances Orozco <br />Daniel Rodriguez <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Richardson requested Senior Deputy Clerk Betty Dang to provide the Council <br />with copies of petitions opposing the rezoning request: 11 signed by Logan resident-homeowners <br />(presented by Josephine Andrade) and 67 signed by members of Logan Neighborhood Friends <br />(presented by Samuel Romero). <br /> <br />The following individuals spoke in favor of industrial zoning: <br /> <br />Angie Gallegos <br />Esther Hernandez <br />Richard Genzel <br />Arlene Dominguez Genzel <br />Georgia Lara <br />Linda Etchandy <br />John Lara <br />Mario Ruiz <br />Veronica Ruiz <br /> <br />Ken Brimlow spoke on property rights and the merits of mixed zoning. <br /> <br />In response to Florence Leach's inquiry, Redevelopment Project Manager III Vicki Uehli stated <br />that the Logan neighborhood was inside the City's enterprise zone. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tern Richardson addressed concerns raised by several speakers by clarifying that <br />"eminent domain" would not apply to Logan zoning issues, and that zoning changes are <br />discretionary actions. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Moreno requested staff study the option of using Logan properties as <br />replacement sites for properties acquired for the Bristol Corridor widening. <br /> <br />Councilmember Espinoza noted the complexity of the Logan issues and indicated he had not <br />reached a position on rezoning Logan. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 139 JUNE 1, 1995 <br /> <br /> <br />
