<br />Exhibit 8 <br />S1-V-07 <br />3) Contractor along with Coast Community College District and the Workforce <br />Investment Board of the City of Anaheim, will conduct a. minimum of two Veterans' <br />Job Fairs during the project. Contractor will effectiyely maximize the press <br />opportunities offered around Veteran's Day. The fairs will proYide health <br />screenings and referrals, job and education assistance to Veterans, as well as <br />Veterans' claim information and details concerning other federal, state and local <br />social services to which they may be entitled. <br /> <br />4) Contractor will conduct outreach to the Veterans Administration, Veterans Hospital, <br />other Veteran's community groups, and the County of Orange Veterans Services <br />Office. <br /> <br />5) Contractor will aggressiYely target homeless shelters and transitional living sites to <br />provide program information. <br /> <br />6) Contractor will use deyeloped material to promote this project with local employers <br />and businesses to generate additional support in hiring Veterans. <br /> <br />7 Contractor will insure that all outreach and recruitment materials shall include a <br />statement that indicates funding through the County of Orange/Orange County <br />Workforce Inyestment Board. <br /> <br />8) Contractor will insure that all outreach and recruitment materials must be approved <br />by the Orange County Workforce Inyestment Board staff prior to publication. Refer <br />to OCWIB Policy and Procedure #010CWDA-41 for specific information regarding <br />accessibility to include on all printed materials. <br /> <br />B. PHASE 2: READINESS PHASE OBJECTIVES <br /> <br />1) Initial Assessment: Contractor will conduct an Initial Assessment of the recently- <br />separated Veterans using established, standardized procedures as an effectiye <br />starting point for service delivery. This will include an objectiYe assessment of the <br />Veteran's academic background, employment skills, barriers to employment and <br />any needed supportiye services. The depth of the assessment may vary depending <br />on the needs, and the nature of personal and employment barriers of the customer. <br /> <br />2) Motivational Career Transition Workshops: Following eligibility determination <br />and basic assessment, Contractor will refer recently separated Veterans to Coast <br />Community College District (CCCD) for participation in a 20-hour workshop <br />coyering all aspects of job search preparation. The workshop will coyer conducting <br />a jOb search, resume writing, interview skills, information about high wage, high <br />demand careers, presenting military experiences to business, dealing with stress <br />and financial literacy. CCCD will conduct these Workshops monthly and will rotate <br />their location throughout the four Orange County One-Stop Centers for easier <br />participant access. <br /> <br />3) Individualized Employment Plan (IEP): Following completion of the Initial <br />Assessment and Motiyational Career Transition Workshops, Case Manager and <br />Veteran, will develop an Indiyidualized Employment Plan (IEP).
