Contractor shall furnish and set out hoses and sprinklers, or other <br />portable means, as required to uniformly water the turf area. <br />c. Automatic irrigation shall be conducted between the hours of 10:00 <br />p.m. and 4:00 a.m. and shall be programmed to prevent excessive <br />run-off, ponding or over watering. <br />d. Turf areas shall not be maintained in an over watered and/or <br />saturated condition. <br />e. Contractor shall respond immediately to signs of turf stress. Turf <br />lost due to stress shall be deemed contractor negligence, as <br />determined by the Director, and replaced at Contractor's expense. <br />5) Overseeding <br />a. Each year, all turf areas shall be over seeded with Eagle Blend or <br />equivalent perennial rye grass at the minimum rate of seven (7) <br />pounds per 1,000 square feet. Seed shall be unifonmly broadcast, <br />with care taken to not broadcast in non-turf area. De-thatching <br />and/or deep scalping of the turf may be required as directed by the <br />Director. Seeds shall be guaranteed free of disease, pests, or other <br />foreign grasses or weeds. <br />6) Pre-Emergent <br />a. The Contractor shall apply an approved pre-emergent herbicide to all <br />turf areas a minimum of one (1) time per year and/or as directed by <br />the Director for control of all types of weeds. At no time shall <br />weeds be allowed to remain in turf areas. <br />7) Replanting <br />a. The Contractor shall re-sod all turf lost due to normal attrition or due <br />to Contractor's faulty maintenance or negligence, as determined by <br />the Director, at no additional cost to the City <br />b. At no time shall ridges or depressions caused from contractor <br />equipment on over watered and/or saturated ground, as determined <br />by the Director, be permitted in the median or turf areas. This shall <br />be deemed Contractor negligence. Contractor shall remove and <br />replace with new turf at no additional cost to the City. <br />B.
