<br />management classification ofthe City service is promoted to a SAMA Middle <br />Management classification, they shall be placed at a salary rate in the <br />appropriate salary rate range that will provide at least a five percent (5%) pay <br />increase. <br />B. SAMA Administrative Manaaement Classifications: <br />1. Promotion from a Non-Manaaement Classification. An employee who <br />is promoted to a SAMA Administrative Management classification <br />from a non-management classification of the City service shall be <br />placed at a salary rate in the appropriate Administrative Management <br />monthly salary rate range that provides a pay increase of at least one <br />(1) step (approximately five percent (5%)). <br />2. Promotional Salarv Advancement. When an employee in a <br />classification designated as Administrative Management (AM) is <br />promoted to a higher classification from a position in a lower <br />classification in the same occupational career ladder, he or she shall <br />be reassigned to the beginning step in the appropriate monthly salary <br />range for the higher classification; provided, however, that if the base <br />salary currently being paid such employee is already equal to or <br />higher than such beginning step, he or she shall be placed in the <br />lowest step in the appropriate monthly salary rate range as will grant <br />the employee a pay increase of at least one (1) step (approximately <br />five percent (5%)) over his or her current base salary step exclusive <br />of pay premiums such as bilingual pay, special skills or the like. <br />-24- <br />
