Selection~inalist(s) by the Panel. <br />Presentation by Finalists, if necessary. <br />Selection of Team. <br />Specific project proposal or design proposals are not expected, nor are they solicited. <br />THE SELECTION PROCESS - IN DETAIL <br />Issuance of the Request for Qualifications <br />The City of Santa Ana is soliciting the qualifications of a Team to design and construct a <br />parking structure at the Civic Center parking lot located near the intersection of Santa Ana <br />Boulevard and Ross Street. <br />2. Pre-Submittal Conference to Discuss Project Objectives <br />The City of Santa Ana will conduct apre-submittal conference to discuss this projects <br />objectives and answer questions from prospective Teams. Attendance is mandatory. This <br />conference will be held: <br />Monday, April 22, 2002 <br />2:00 p.m. <br />1st Floor <br />City of Santa Ana Ross Annex <br />20 Civic Center Plaza <br />Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />3. Evaluation of Qualifications by Panel <br />A selection panel will be composed of representatives from the City of Santa Ana's Public <br />Works Agency, Planning and Building Agency and other Agencies as appropriate. The panel <br />may conduct atwo-step evaluation process which will culminate in the selection of the Team. <br />Tn the first step, the panel will perform an initial review of the submittals, and create a <br />"shortlist" of finalists. If a second step is used, the City of Santa Ana will invite the <br />r. "short-listed" Teams to make an oral presentation. In addition, the panel will make the final <br />selection and open the most qualified Team's fee proposal, and commence negotiations. <br />The Selection Criteria <br />The panel will select a Team with the capability to deliver a project that meets the objectives of the City <br />of Santa Ana. The Panel will rely on the Team's written presentations, investigation of previous projects, <br />current commitments, references, industry contacts, and discussions with the Team. <br />The important threshold issues for the initial phase of the selection process are: <br />Does the Team have similar experience with Public Agencies? <br />Does the Team have a direct, relevant experience in parking structure design, construction, and <br />project management? <br />4of9 <br />
