77 <br />COMMENTS <br />Discussed a proposal currently pending in the Planning Commission <br />relative to an appeal to allow an increase in height of an existing <br />monopole to 60 feet located at 1234 South Main Street. <br />Councilmember Moreno expressed concern that the Commission is <br />considering the request and that it may not be brought to the attention <br />of the Council; Robyn Uptegraff, Executive Director of the Planning and <br />Building Agency assured Councilmember Moreno that she would keep <br />the Council apprised of the matter. <br />Councilmember Bist <br />• Noted that in response to requests from COMLINK and other residents, <br />the City has sent out letters to State representatives relative to revised <br />Shopping Cart and commercial vehicle legislation, but that the City has <br />not received any response as of yet. Councilmember Bist also stated <br />that the Council was under the impression that the commercial vehicle <br />ordinance had to apply to both private driveways and public streets, <br />and that this may not be the case. She requested that this matter be <br />placed on the next Council Agenda so that the Council could review its <br />options on this issue. <br />• Announced that the Main Street Players were performing the play <br />"Pirates of Penzance" from March 10 through March 20, 2000 at the <br />First Presbyterian Church, 606 N. Main Street <br />• Urged voters to vote in the Primary Election on March 7, 2000, and <br />asked that they consider voting "No" on Proposition F. <br />Councilmember Lutz <br />• Welcomed Windsor Village North as the fifty-third and newest <br />neighborhood association formed, and noted that this association will <br />be an asset to COMLINK. <br />• Congratulated Ryland Homes for selling out the Riverglen housing <br />development project. <br />Councilmember McGuigan <br />• Noted that the Main Library is temporarily closed due to a power failure, <br />but will reopen on Wednesday, March 8, 2000. <br />• Announced that the Spring Employment Exposition was being held at <br />Santa Ana College on March 7, 2000. <br />• Encouraged citizens to vote in the Primary Election. <br />Councilmember Christy <br />• Congratulated Councilmember McGuigan on receiving the Outstanding <br />Local Elected Official award presented by the NAACP. <br />• Asked Rob Richard, Library Executive Director, to give an update on an <br />event at Lincoln School Scheduled for Saturday, March 11,2000. <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 76 MARCH 6, 2000 <br />
