1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />1l <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />4.7 One-Stop Centers: Employment-based facilities integrating COUNTY <br />and One-Stop Partners into a single comprehensive center providing a mix of <br />core, intensive, and training services to businesses seeking employees and <br />participants seeking jobs under various federal and state funding programs. <br />The centers have been established statewide, pursuani to the federal Workforce <br />Investment Act of 1998, to implement a collaborative system of employment <br />training and education programs and services in support of California"s <br />economic development. <br />4.8 One-Stop Partner: One of the entities responsible for conducting <br />the day-to-day activities associated with the delivery of workforce <br />development services to employers and job seeking customers, including daily <br />management, supervision, and coordination of staff physically co-located at <br />the Santa Ana Workforce Center. <br />4.9 Participant: A recipient of CaIWORKs and financial assistance <br />benefits who has voluntarily enrolled or is required to participate in the <br />program pursuant to state regulations. <br />4.10 Supportive Services: Payments provided to or on behalf of WTW <br />participants for child care, transportation and ancillary expense costs. <br />4.11 Vocational Training: A Welfare-To-Work training activity that is <br />temporary and transitiona], which includes organized educational programs that <br />are directly related to preparing individuals for employment in current or <br />emerging occupations. This activity shall include programs that prepare <br />participants far a specific trade, occupation, or vocation. The activity will <br />not exceed a 12-month limit per participant referred. Training participants <br />shall be monitored daily and lack of participation shall be communicated to <br />the County immediately. <br />4.12 Welfare-To-Work (WTW): A mandated program under CaIWORKs which <br />requires parents or caretakers in families on welfare, unless exempted. to <br />~ (WBC0607) <br />6 of 40 (April 9. 2007) <br />
