<br />of straight time per day of standby duty. <br /> <br />F. An employee who is continuously and regularly assigned as <br />a Training Officer assigned to Field Operations or the <br />Detention facility will be paid at a rate set five (5) <br />salary rate ranges (approximately 2.5%) above his or her <br />then current base monthly salary step. <br /> <br />G. An employee who is continuously and regularly assigned as <br />an Internal Affairs Officer will be paid at a rate set <br />five (5) salary rate ranges (approximately 2.5%) above <br />his or her then current base monthly salary step. <br /> <br />5.2 Shift Differential, Non-Sworn Personnel. Each employee in the <br />classes of Animal Control Officer I, Animal Control Officer <br />I I, Forensic Specialist I, Forensic Specialist I I, Police <br />Communications Supervisor, Police Investigative Specialist, <br />Police Property & Evidence Specialist, Police Service Officer, <br />Police Services Dispatcher, Communications Services Officer, <br />Detention Officer, and Detention Supervisor who is <br />continuously and regularly assigned to a schedule of work <br />which requires that he or she actually work a minimum of four <br />and one-half (4 1/2) hours between the hours of 5:00 P.M. and <br />7:00 A.M. will be paid a shift differential at a rate set ten <br />(10) salary rate ranges (5.0%) above his or her then current <br />base monthly salary step. <br /> <br />5.3 Bilingual Pay. Qualified employees who meet the following <br />criteria will be paid a monthly pay differential, above his or <br />her base monthly salary step, as follows: <br /> <br />A. Assignment by the Police Chief or his designee to a <br />position requiring bilingual capability in both English <br />and one of the following languages: Spanish, Samoan, <br />Vietnamese, Cambodian, Korean, Hmong or other language <br />designated by the City Manager; and <br /> <br />B. Certified by the chief personnel officer as having <br />satisfactorily demonstrated the required level of fluency <br />in both languages. <br /> <br />C. Street Level Proficiency In Spanish. A Police Officer or <br />Police Sergeant who successfully meets the "Street Level <br />Proficiency" requirements set out in the departmental <br />Spanish training program shall be paid a bilingual pay <br />differential in an amount equal to the product obtained <br />by multiplying the base salary rate being paid to an <br />employee in the rank of Police Officer at Step "E" by two <br />and one-half percent (2.5%) (five [5J salary rate <br /> <br />15 <br />
