<br />Orange County Conservation Corps <br />Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board <br />Request for proposal <br />The Youth Service Provider Network <br />PY 2007/2008 <br /> <br />From where will proGram services be delivered? <br />Program services will be delivered in a variety of venues and locations: <br />. Paid work experience will be at various projects throughout the county depending <br />on the current work project assigned; <br />. All other program services (education, case management, transition services, <br />follow up, etc.) will generally be delivered at the OCCC main site in Anaheim. <br />However, staff will visit field projects and make home visits as needed to deliver <br />case management services. Occupational skills training will occur both in the <br />classroom and in the field. Project visits and field trips will be planned to facilitate <br />incorporating work projects with classroom instruction. <br />. Street outreach and other recruitment activities will be delivered in Santa Ana, <br />while interviews will be held at the Anaheim site, as well as the WORK Center as <br />needed. <br />. OCCC provides transportation using OCCC crew vans to OCCC work projects, <br />and provides pick up points in Santa Ana using crew vans to assist <br />corpsmembers in getting to the Anaheim site for work/school. The OCCC also <br />provides bus passes and helps to arrange car pools to assist corpsmembers with <br />transportation issues. <br /> <br />What are vour hours of operation? <br />The OCCC offices are open Monday - Thursday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm and Friday <br />from 8:00 am to noon. Additional week-end and evening hours to be arranged <br />depending on individual participant needs, scheduled events, and activities. <br /> <br />How has the omanization assured that the location is a safe and vouth friendlv <br />environment? <br />The OCCC conducts regular inspections to ensure our building is safe and complies <br />with all American with Disabilities Act, Workers Compensation, fire, and safety <br />measures for the workplace. The OCCC maintains a safety committee that has the <br />responsibility for ensuring the OCCC is in compliance with all safety training and issues <br />regarding the workplace. <br /> <br />The OCCC ensures a youth friendly environment by soliciting corpsmember input <br />through corpsmember satisfaction surveys, a suggestion box, the leadership council <br />(which is comprised of corpsmembers), community meetings with staff and <br />corpsmembers, and ensuring corpsmembers are involved with the various planning <br />sessions, strategic plans, and Board meetings.
