<br />Our business complex is configured in a u-shape allowing many of our staff and other <br />tenants to have visual contact of the parking lot, which is well lit in the evening hours. <br />Our buildings are equipped with a fire alarnl, fire sprinklers and a security system that <br />gives us easy and immediate access to emergency services if necessary. Finally, our staff <br />are trained on how to evacuate the building in case of a fire or earthquake and the majority <br />of our program staff are CPR certified. <br /> <br />The ORC is equipped with a lounge area that includes couches, television, DVD player <br />and vIdeo games. We also have resources such as hygiene items, clothing and other <br />donations available to our clients when needed. Our kitchen includes a washer and dryer <br />for our clients and a refrigerator dedicated for them that includes food they can eat or cook <br />during their visit. On an emergency basis clients can take a bag of non-perishable food <br />with them. Finally, the ORC is stocked with many valuable resource materials relating to <br />jobs, education, housing, etc. If our staff cannot provide resources internally they work <br />diligently with clients to find needed resources and provide referrals accordingly. <br /> <br />Discuss how Internet access will be available to program staff. <br />Every member of our program staff including our peer mentors involved in the Foster <br />Youth Liaison Project have a workstation with access to telephone, computer with internet <br />connection and Microsoft Office software including Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook, <br />Publisher and Access. Furthennore, there are three computers with internet access located <br />in the Orangewood Resource Center for our foster youth clientele. <br /> <br />Is the facility compliant with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA)? Describe corrective <br />actIon plan if not. <br />Yes, the Orangewood Children's Foundation facility is compliant with the Americans <br />with Disability Act U'illA \. <br /> <br />About Your Organization <br /> <br />Description of the Proposer <br />Discuss the current number of full time and part time personnel employed, average annual operating <br />budget and sources of revenue. <br />The Orangewood Children's Foundation (OCF) has a current annual operating budget of over <br />eight million dollars. OCF receives funding from multiple funding sources including government <br />grants, private and corporate donors, joint business ventures, event fundraisers, etc. We currently <br />employ 53 full-time employees and 3] part-time employees including 25 par1-time peer mentors. <br /> <br />How long has your organization been serving Santa Ana youth? <br />Orangewood Children's Foundation is a private, 50]Ce)3 nonprofit organization established in <br />198] to raise money to build a replacement emergency shelter for Orange County's abused, <br />neglected and abandoned children. The result was the Orangewood Children's Home, which was <br />dedicated in 1985. After completing an expansion to the Home in ] 992, the Foundation turned its <br />attention to serving the on-going needs ofthese children and their families. OCF programs assist <br />foster children and fomler foster children leaving the dependency system, strengthen at-risk <br />families, and are designed to prevent and break the generational cycle of abuse.
