We have budgeted for two meetings, one with s Iders menti ul
above. We have also budgeted for one additiona n (e0sucwith the Chamber of Commerce) where we wouldprovide a brief outline of the purpose of the Housingexample, given the work underway with the issue of Workfo
or other topics, we are able to meet with the Chamber, Orange County
Business Council, or other groups as desired by the City.
2.6 Study Sessions
Prior to submitting the draft Housing Element to the State of California
Department of Housing and Community Development, we recommend
holding one study session each with the Community Redevelopment and
Housing Commission, the Planning Commission, and the City Council.
This allows for the gradual refinement of the draft Housing Element.
We have budgeted for one session each before each body. We assume
that the City will handle all arrangements, advertising, noticing, and any
auxiliary details to facilitate the study session. The Planning Center will
be responsible for preparation of materials, notices, and materials,
including boards, graphics, etc. Unlike the workshops, our budget
assumes these study sessions are provided in English only.
Prior to the meeting, each elected official will be provided a synopsis
of the Housing Element and attached full draft for their review and
consideration. The three study sessions are described below.
Redevelopment and Housing Commission Study Session
We understand that the role of the Commission is to review the draft
Housing Element and provide feedback to the extent that the Housing
Element affects their immediate area of responsibility. The Commission
is clearly a knowledgeable group who are well aware of the City's
housing needs. Therefore, we will focus our presentation primarily on a
review of the housing programs of the Housing Element. The purpose
of this meeting is to present the findings of the Housing Element and
ensure that the document fully addresses their concerns.
Following the study session with the Community Redevelopment and
Housing Commission, we can either incorporate their comments into the
Housing Element or, if desired by City staff, refer the draft Housing
Element along with the comments to the Planning Commission.
Housing Element Update THE PLANNING CENTER I Page 2-17
