Project manager as single point <br />of Contact <br />The DMJM Harris team's project <br />manager, Mr. Greg Hefter will serve <br />as our single point of contact for the <br />City of Santa Ana. In this capacity he <br />will be responsible for: <br />• Serving as primary contact with <br />the City and other agencies, as <br />required, to meet project needs <br />• Managing the DMJM Harris <br />team, including the authority to <br />make decisions on behalf of the <br />team and to commit corporate <br />resources to meet project <br />requirements <br />• Scheduling and internally <br />coordinating the team's work <br />• Ensuring that the project's <br />technical/professional and <br />contractual requirements are <br />thoroughly fulfilled <br />• Establishing clear lines of <br />communication both internally and <br />externally <br />• Chairing all regular project team <br />meetings and being the primary <br />respondent to the City <br />• Initiating and maintaining a quality <br />management program tailored to <br />the project <br />• Managing an effective project <br />controls system that delivers high <br />quality work on time and under <br />budget <br />B. An effective communications <br />process <br />The effectiveness of our <br />communication with the City of Santa <br />Ana and all project participants is <br />crucial to a successful project. Greg <br />Hefter is dedicated to fostering a <br />productive communication process <br />and to providing proactive design <br />issue resolution, working with the <br />City as an extension of staff. Figure <br />2-4 shows the tools used for effective <br />communications. <br />.,< <br />C. Project -specific Quality Control <br />Plan <br />Quality is essential on all engineering <br />projects. DMJM Harris is ISO <br />9001:2000 certified and employs a <br />quality management system (Figure <br />2-5). This program incorporates <br />quality review at each working level <br />from the project manager down and <br />from the discipline level up, and is <br />continually reinforced during the <br />project. There are four components <br />to this approach, as shown in Figure <br />2-6. They address all aspects of <br />the project and are performed <br />continually and at major milestones <br />during project development. They <br />include: <br />• Engineering discipline review. <br />During the project, prior to any <br />formal submittal, the design <br />and reports are reviewed by the <br />discipline managers. <br />• Coordination review. The <br />project manager and discipline <br />lead engineers will review the <br />construction documents for <br />coordination, accuracy, client <br />drafting standards, and definition <br />of work. <br />DMJM HARRI AECOM <br />
