Santa Ana and Irvine to review and process encroachment <br />permits. For exploratory borings requiring permits to enter, the <br />Consultant shall do research and submit a list identifying the <br />owner(s) with the Assessor Parcel Numbers (APN) and the <br />mailing address, prepare and send letter of Permit-To-Enter on <br />the City of Santa Ana or Irvine letter head depending on the <br />location of the property. A copy of such letter shall be provided <br />to the City of Santa Ana. <br />b. Sufficient borings and material samples shall be collected to <br />determine the pavement structural section and the slope <br />stability of the bridge structure, soundwall, retaining walls, <br />roadway, and embankment. <br />c. ADL content testing shall be conducted and analyzed by <br />California Certified laboratory. A report including findings of the <br />field investigation, laboratory tests results, statistical analysis <br />results, and recommendations for placement of on-site soils <br />excavated during construction within the project area shall be <br />submitted to the City of Santa Ana for review. <br />d. It shall be the responsibility of the Consultant to notify <br />Underground Service Alert, prepare necessary traffic control <br />plans, and provide traffic control for the field investigations. <br />e. Geotechnical Engineering Analyses -Results obtained from the <br />field investigation and laboratory testing program will be used to <br />establish idealized soil profiles and soil strength parameters for <br />lateral earth pressures determination, pavement structural <br />section design, foundation analysis for bridge, retaining walls, <br />and soundwall, global stability and settlement of embankments. <br />Composite pavement structural sections will be designed based <br />on R-values obtained from the laboratory tests and Traffic <br />Indices using the Caltrans design method. Corrosion <br />recommendations will be provided for the buried utilities and <br />drainage devices based on Caltrans Corrosion Guidelines. <br />f. Report Preparation -The following report shall be submitted in <br />accordance with Caltrans requirements: <br />Preliminary Foundation Report documenting existing <br />foundation conditions, making preliminary foundation <br />recommendations for the APS and Type Selection <br />submittal, and identifying the need for additional <br />investigation and studies. <br />Foundation Report analyzing site geology, subsurface <br />and ground water conditions, scour and corrosion <br />evaluation and presenting remediation measures against <br />11 <br />25D-37 <br />
