City: LA HABRA <br />The City of La Habra proposes to use the 2009 Justice Assistance Grant funding as <br />follows: <br />Project Objectives (Must be linked to meaningful and measurable outcomes consistent with <br />the goals of the Recovery Act; refer to solicitation) <br />The La Habra Police Department will purchase and equip each officer with a ballistic <br />Helmet and face shield. The La Habra Police Department will purchase and equip each <br />officer with a taser and carrying equipment. <br />Goal: <br />The La Habra Police Department will equip each of its police officers with a ballistic safety <br />helmet with face shield and a taser with carrying equipment to enhance officers' safety <br />while they prevent and reduce crime and violence. <br />Activities: (which can be started and completed expeditiously, and in a manner that <br />maximizes job creation and economic benefits) <br />Order and purchase safety equipment in America. <br />Quantifiable Per Measures: (Established by the agency to assess whether grant <br />objectives are being met) <br />Currently, La Habra Police Officers are not issued their own helmet or taser. Each officer <br />will receive safety equipment (purchased in America) consisting of a ballistic helmet with <br />face shield and a taser with carrying equipment. <br />Timeline or prolect Plan: (Identifying when the goals and objectives will be completed) <br />Upon funding authorization, the safety equipment will be ordered, purchased in America <br />and issued to each officer as soon as possible and then seek JAG funds for reimbursement <br />from the County of Orange. <br />Funding: <br />Total Allocation: $92,079.00 <br />PROACT Contribution: (10.0 %): $9,208.00 <br />Administrative Fee (9.0 %): $8,287.00 <br />Funds Retained by City: $ 74,584.00 <br />2009- F1801 -CA -SB Page 31 of 61 <br />
