criteria of major fixed guideway facilities/systems
• Selected vision concepts to illustrate station character within a typical station area
• Selected vision concepts that illustrate major design elements of the proposed fixed
guideway alignments in light of the surrounding community.
• Locations and functional layouts for up to two alternative maintenance & storage facility
site locations for the Build Alternatives. Provision of concepts and identification of
approximate locations of support and system facilities (e.g., substations) on the plan
view drawings.
• Assessment of utility impacts and relocation needs
• Identified limits and description of major surface and street modifications that would be
required (e.g., traffic, drainage, and other major elements)
• Preliminary Operating Plans, including any major transit system changes needed to
accommodate and interface with existing transit operations
Task 6.1 Corridor Mapping
Digitized aerial corridor mapping suitable for conceptual engineering will be provided by the City
of Santa Ana. High Definition Scanning (HDS) will be used to obtain detailed topographic
information along the project corridor with minimal impact to the motoring public. These surveys
will include major existing improvements, traffic configurations and other as -built street
conditions. The data collected will augment the existing aerial corridor mapping provided by the
city of Santa Ana. The data will be incorporated with existing right of way base mapping and can
be used throughout the design of the project. We will also conduct right-of-way mapping along
the entire project limits, dispatching a field crew to survey all centerline monuments, calculate
existing right of way from Assessor's Parcel Maps and utilize record maps in the area to
determine potential property takes.
Deliverable(s) — Enhanced Digitized Mapping of Build Alternative Alignment Stations and
Support Facilities
Task 6.2 Alignment and Station Locations
Task 6.2.1 Track, Roadway, Civil Structural and Systems Design Concepts
The Cordoba team will prepare plan sets drawings for the Build Alternatives and any remaining
design/alignment options. This will include definition of the alignment, along with surface, and
elevated stations, structures, and major surface improvements. Conceptual design drawings of
the alignment will be prepared at a level of detail necessary to facilitate technical feasibility, cost
analysis and documentation of alternatives appropriate for an Alternatives Analysis. For the
most part, the conceptual alignments will be portrayed at a 1" = 100' scale on 11" x 17" size
sheets. However, there will also be areas or certain sections that may require a more focused
examination (i.e., at 1" = 40' scale) in order to resolve specific design issues.
151 Page
