36 <br />Deliverables: <br />r <br />® • Ridership Projections Technical Memo <br />• Technical memorandum profiling the o <br />the SARTC as well as their space need <br />• Thematic maps and exhibits as require <br />Task 2.C Design Workshops <br />andum <br />perations of current and future transportation providers serving <br />s and ancillary infrastructure requirements l <br />d to visualize and coordinate quantitative information <br />Objective: To establish a program of goals, criteria, spatial needs, operational characteristics and mix of <br />uses for the SARTC and the surrounding site based on input from the City and stakeholders. <br />Approach: The needs of the various station facility components will be assessed includeing Metrolink, <br />Amtrak, fixed-guideway, OCTA buses, OCTA Stationlink, OCTA BRT, High Speed Rail, Greyhound <br />Bus, International Tour Bus, LA World Airports FlyAway Bus, shared car, bike station, fixed-guideway <br />maintenance facility, ticketing and information facilities, parking, layovers, open spaces, pedestrian <br />connections, administrative offices, retail and commercial business uses. Design Workshops offer a <br />unique approach to involving and engaging clients, stakeholders and community interests in planning and <br />development for specific needs. The process will involve involve a series of focused, interactive workshop <br />sessions held during the course of a week, preferably within the project area or walking distance from the <br />project site. Close proximity to the project area allows for easy access for participants and designers to <br />review issues on site and at the planning table. <br />The sessions are intended to be small gatherings of 8 to 15 people to engage in a productive forum. During <br />the sessions IBI Group listens, documents the exchange and develops an understanding of a common <br />ground of issues. The Design Workshop facilitates direct interaction between the IBI Group design team <br />and the various stakeholder groups flushing out issues, ideas, and solutions that get tested by the whole <br />group throughout the course of the Workshop. <br />The IBI Team will collect all available data from each of the transportation providers as well as base mapping <br />of the surrounding site photograph and necessary graphics to illustrate project issues as a beginning point <br />for the discussions. IBI Group will prepare illustrative feature boards, site maps, and existing conditions <br />imagery as tools to use and participants to reference. A brief powerpoint presentation will be prepared <br />that will: <br />• Introduce the project and present goals and objectives. <br />• Describe the workshop process and purpose. <br />• Share examples of precedent transit centers, review design challenges and attributes. <br />• Initiate the dialogue and listen to the stakeholders share their perspective. <br />Deliverables: <br />• Agendas, meeting notes, action items for the workshops <br />• Workshop graphics, mapping, photography, sketches <br />• Technical memorandum summarizing the results of the workshop
