City of Santa Ana Finance & Management Services Departmental Summaries <br />F INANCE & MANAGEMENT S ERVICES <br />D EPARTMENT P ROGRAMS <br />Accounting <br />Provides true, current and accurate financial information and <br />support services to internal and external customers while <br />safeguarding the City's assets, promoting ethical behavior, <br />and maintaining a high level of compliance with applicable <br />accounting pronouncements, laws and regulations. <br />Administrative Services <br />Central Services-Provides in-house reprographic duplication, <br />special one-time print order photocopying and direct <br />confidential messaging services. <br />Payroll-Ensures all employees are paid accurately and timely <br />manner; complies with City policies, federal and state tax and <br />labor laws; conforms to negotiated pay and benefits as <br />identified in employee contracts. <br />Purchasing-Develops technical specifications, advertising, and <br />billing procedures and payment processing. <br />Management & Budget <br />Responsible for the improvement of operational efficiency <br />through the review, preparation and monitoring of the <br />CIty's operating and capital budgets and long-term financial <br />planning. <br />Treasury & Customer Service <br />Assess and collects city taxes, licenses, municipal utility <br />charges and other revenues in a courteous manner while <br />providing for receipt, custody, deposit and investment of <br />City funds through sound and prudent investment policies <br />and procedures. <br /> <br /> <br />
