~tandUp ~ Porkids <br />ORANGE COUNTY <br />WORK EXPERIENCE COMPONENTS <br />Work experience should focus on skill s development , career exploration, and improving the <br />employability of youth. The work experience may include, but is not limited to: <br />• Internships: Oppo1tunities for youth to gain practical experience in a specific field or <br />industry. <br />• Job Shadowing: Sho11-term oppo1tunities for youth to observe professionals in v arious <br />careers. <br />• Summer Employment: Temporary, often seasona l, work experiences that allow youth to <br />earn wages w hile learning about the workforce. <br />• On-the-Job Training (OJT): Strnctured work-b ased learning where youth can l earnjob- <br />specific skill s under the guidance of experienced professionals. <br />• Pre-Apprenticeships: Structured programs that provide youth with foundational skill s <br />needed for entry into an apprenticeship program. <br />• Community Service Projects: Service-based experiences wh ere youth can contribute to <br />their c01mnunity w hile gaining valuab le work-related skills. <br />WORK EXPERIENCE STRUCTURE AND DUTIES <br />• The work experience must be strnctured and provide participants with exposure to work <br />tasks that help develop skills, foster professionalism, and create long-term career <br />oppo1tunities. <br />• Employers w ill provide a detailed job description, tasks, and expectations for the work <br />experience to ensure the youth pmticipant gains meaningful experience. <br />• Superv isors must mentor and guide the youth throughout the experience, ensuring they <br />receive feedback on their performance and ski ll development. <br />• Paiticipants must maintain attendance and adhere to workp lace policies. <br />EXHIBIT 3 <br />  <br />  <br />City Council 10 – 356 7/1/2025
