S.A. 12‐022 <br />Investigator: ANDREW ROSS Approved By: <br />Date of Report: 09/11/12 Date:09/17/12 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />As waited for the police to arrive, he complained to that police patrol <br />units had passed the location without checking on the subjects. asked to <br />respond to the front of the hotel to check to see if a police officer arrived and was waiting in <br />the parking lot. <br /> responded to the hotel parking lot, but was unable to locate a police officer. <br /> returned to the hotel room. As walked to the hotel room, she observed, <br />from the hallway balcony, the headlights of the Jeep flashing off and on towards the hotel. <br /> was unable to see any occupants inside the vehicle at that time, but was still able to <br />see next to the building. went inside the hotel room and told that the <br />police had not yet arrived and that she had seen the vehicles headlights flashing. <br /> began to watch from the window of the hotel room and observed a police <br />patrol unit driving slowly eastbound through the parking lot, south of 3005 South Bristol Street. <br />The patrol vehicle rounded the southeast corner of the building and began to drive northbound <br />towards the location of the Jeep. The police patrol unit parked southeast of the Jeep, with its <br />spotlight illuminated and pointed towards the Jeep. A police officer stepped out of the vehicle <br />and yelled out to the subjects that were by the Jeep. was unable to hear what the <br />police officer said, because the hotel room window was closed. <br />Approximately five seconds after heard the police officer yell out, she heard <br />four or five gunshots, Pop, pop, pop, pop. could not see the police officer when the <br />gunshots were fired. Immediately after the gunshots rang out, a male subject, who was later <br />identified as MARCELINO VALENCIA ALMANZA, ran from the drivers side of the Jeep, rounded <br />the front of the vehicle and collapsed onto his stomach in front of the vehicle.
