SCOPE OF SERVICES
that deviate from SCRRA standards and manuals.
These are anticipated to include requests for
deviations from 1) minimum temporary horizontal
clearance requirements, 2) the requirement that a
minimum of two columns be provided per track,
and 3) bridge skew angle.
4.3 Design Exceptions — Caltrans
Our team will coordinate with Caltrans regarding
any existing non-standard design features at the I-
5 ramp intersection. It is not expected that this
grade separation project will create any new non-
standard features that would require a Design
Standard Design Document (DSDD) to be
prepared.
Task Deliverables:
• City Design Memorandum
• SCRRA Design Exception Memorandum
Task 5 Site Survey
5.1 Project Control
Mark Thomas will establish horizontal control
based on CCS83, Zone VI, and vertical control will
be based on the City of Santa Ana Vertical Datum,
to be confirmed with the City prior to control
establishment. Mark Thomas to set temporary
control points for future design and construction
survey within the project limits. Mark Thomas to
obtain applicable encroachment permits prior to
beginning any field survey work. Mark Thomas to
also coordinate and verify datum(s) with SCRRA,
where appropriate.
5.2 Aerial Topography
Once the project control is established, Mark
Thomas will establish supplemental horizontal and
vertical control necessary for orienting the
photogrammetric survey. Mark Thomas will acquire
new color stereo image data covering the above -
mentioned project area that will be suitable in
resolution, scale and image quality for developing
key topographic break lines and improvements.
Mark Thomas will collect data during the primary
data acquisition mission using conventional flight
methods. Aerial imagery will be obtained when the
ground is not obscured by smog, haze, fog or dust,
and when cloud or cloud shadow coverage will not
appear in any image. Refer to MAGENTA area in
CITY OF SANTA ANA
SANTA ANA BOULEVARD GRADE SEPARATION
MARK 7MOMAS
Figure 1 below illustrating the general footprint of
the topographic data/aerial imagery to be captured
and processed.
Mark Thomas will map all planimetric feature data
in three dimensions to generate an Aerial
Topographic Survey Base Map with aerial imagery
background at 1" = 40' scale. Mapped features will
generally include roof outlines of buildings and
other major structures, tops/toes of channels, edge
of pavement for all paved surfaces, manholes,
drop inlets, parking areas, curbs/gutters,
sidewalks, fences, walls, signs, utility poles, light
poles, above ground utility service facilities, storm
drain facilities, ditches, streams, trees/tree
outlines, dense brush, bulkheads, and other visible
improvements at the surface elevation. Mass
points and break lines will be collected along all
mapped improvements listed above to create
continuous contours with a 1.0' interval and a
Digital Terrain Model (DTM).
Assumptions
• Up to eight (8) aerial ground control targets
will be established
• Aerial topographic mapping will not be
reviewed by Caltrans (no "ABC" submittal
for this project)
• Field surveys to be conducted under traffic
control plan, if required.
Task Deliverables
• Project Control in CSV and PDF formats
• Basemap LandNet file in AutoCAD, PDF
formats
• Aerial Topographic Survey Base Map in
AutoCAD, PDF and SHP formats
• Color Digital Orthophotography (JPG or
TIFF format)
• Digital Terrain Model (DTM) in CAD format
• Site Photos, Videos and Field Notes
5.3 Field Survey
Once the geometries are refined utilizing the aerial
mapping, Mark Thomas will perform supplemental
as -built design surveys within the Project Area,
approximate areas as shown below in Figure 1,
per direction of the resident engineer. Topographic
survey data to be collected using a conventional
Total Station, statictmobile LiDAR and/or GPS and
