SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />require longer Limited Work Windows in <br />addition to Absolute Work Windows, and 3) <br />an alternative that could eliminate the need <br />to use Slide -In Bridge Construction. <br />The rough order of magnitude construction <br />cost estimate will be based on estimated <br />costs per square foot. Detailed quantity <br />calculations and development of unit prices <br />are not anticipated for this task. <br />This scope assumes one (1) round of <br />review comments from SCRRA and the <br />City will be provided concurrently, or that <br />the City will review prior to submission to <br />SCRRA. <br />8.2.2 Plan Preparation <br />Biggs Cardosa will prepare plans and structural <br />calculations for the railroad bridge. Plans are <br />anticipated to include a General Plan, General <br />Notes, Foundation Plan, Bent and Abutment <br />Layouts, Staged Construction Details, and detail <br />sheets. <br />The following sheets (and number of sheets) are <br />anticipated for the Santa Ana Boulevard <br />Underpass: <br />• General Plan (1) <br />• Typical Sections (1) <br />• General Notes (2) <br />• Construction Staging (8) <br />• Foundation Plan (1) <br />• Abutment & Bent. Layouts and Details (8) <br />• Girder Layout & Details (6) <br />• Bearing Details (2) <br />• Walkway Details (1) <br />• Waterproofing Details (1) <br />• Deck Drain Details (1) <br />• Architectural 1 Aesthetic Details (2) <br />• Approach Slab Details (2) <br />• Total Sheets: 36 <br />To maintain independence for the check <br />calculations, Biggs Cardosa recommends that the <br />65% structural calculations be transmitted to the <br />City and SCRRA (if required), but the independent <br />review team should not review until both firms are <br />ready to reconcile structural calculations. <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA „ <br />SANTA ANA BOULEVARD GRADE SEPARA1lC3Ti <br />MARK TMGMAS <br />Assumptions: <br />• The 35% Plans are anticipated to consist of <br />the General Plan prepared for the Bridge <br />Type Selection Report and a Foundation <br />Plan. <br />• This scope assumes that the bridge <br />drawings will be developed with traditional <br />2D linework, and Mark Thomas or others <br />will use the 2D linework to develop 3D <br />models for visualization purposes. <br />• This scope assumes that the preferred <br />alternative resulting from Task 8.2.1 is <br />consistent with the general assumptions in <br />this Scope of Work, and that the selected <br />construction staging alternative will consist <br />of constructing foundations outside of the <br />tracks and using Slide -In Bridge <br />Construction methods. <br />• Structural calculations will be prepared in <br />accordance with AREMA, SCRRA design <br />criteria, and Caltrans manuals. Structural <br />calculations will be submitted at the 65% <br />milestone (Draft), reconciled with the <br />independent structural check calculations, <br />and then a Final set of structural <br />calculations will be prepared. The Final <br />Structural Calculations will be signed and <br />sealed by a licensed engineer in the State <br />of California. <br />• Biggs Cardosa will supply plans and <br />structural calculations for inclusion in the <br />SCRRA submittal packages at the City - <br />specified milestone submittal (e.g. the 65% <br />plans will be packaged by other into a 60% <br />SCRRA submittal). <br />• Comments received on a milestone <br />submittal will be addressed at the <br />subsequent submittal. This scope does not <br />assume preparation of Draft 65% Plans <br />and Final 65% Plans, for example. <br />8.2.3 Independent Check <br />An independent design check of the rail bridge will <br />be performed in conformance with Caltrans Bridge <br />Design and Details Manual and SCRRA standards <br />and design manuals.
