Construction <br />staking services will be performed in accordance <br />with the work as outlined in Chapter 12 of the <br />Caltrans Surveys Manual; Construction Surveys <br />and will consist of construction survey services, <br />including field surveys and the necessary office <br />support to coordinate staking requirements with <br />the Resident Engineer. <br />Mark Thomas will coordinate field staking with the <br />Contactor and/or the City of Santa Ana. Field <br />staking will begin two working days after receipt of <br />staking request, assuming all clarifications and the <br />area is ready for staking. Mark Thomas will <br />prepare and maintain a spreadsheet tracking all <br />written staking requests, dates of requests, dates <br />of staking and all notes (cut sheets) regarding the <br />staking. <br />Assumptions <br />• Restaking due to lost or destroyed stakes <br />will be performed as approved by the <br />Contactor and will be compensated as <br />extra work. <br />• For the purposes of this proposal, one crew <br />mobilization shall be defined as one day of <br />continuous, uninterrupted staking effort to <br />complete a staking priority. <br />• After a survey request is received and if the <br />survey field crews are mobilized to an area <br />that is not ready for stakes, the Contractor <br />will be charged a minimum of 4 hours of <br />field crew time as an extra above the <br />contracted amount. <br />• Mark Thomas will receive a 3-week look - <br />ahead schedule of operations and time <br />estimates and discuss staking <br />need sloperations with Contractor <br />• It is assumed stakes will be used within <br />three working days of being set in order to <br />preserve the integrity of the staking. <br />
