'-,' ` ' identify Potential Transportation Improvements Transportation improvements identified
In the various Bristol Street Widening study segments, approved and on -going
environmental documentations will be analyzed to identify how they will address
projected capacity deficiencies. The use of alternative transportation modes, such as
carpools and transit, to mitigate capacity deficiencies could be also recommended. A
final list of improvements identified as necessary to bring the levels of service to within
acceptable levels will be developed.
A.3 SPECIFIC PLAN AMENDMENT (SPA)
URS will update the Bristol Street Specific Plan document to accommodate remnant
land acquired by the City as a result of the widening of Bristol Street, and amend the
current Specific Plan land use designations on certain identified parcels to allow
commercial uses. Our initial assessment has Identified this amendment will result mostly
In changes needed to Chapter 5.0 Development Plan. However, minor textual
changes to the six other chapters in the Specific Plan document will be likely to address
the land use designation changes and achieve consistency throughout the entire
document.
The Specific Plan was prepared almost 20 years ago; therefore, it will be difficult to
incorporate changes to the text and graphics and remain consistent with the
document's existing format. As a result, we are proposing a complete reformat of the
document as part of our SOW for this task. The reformatted document will Include the
following:
➢ Revised exhibits and tables
➢ Updated maps, Including the use of aerial photos for visual enhancement
➢ New graphics to strengthen elements Identified in the design guidelines and
accommodate the parcels proposed for commercial uses
➢ Text of all chapters
The reformatted document will be available to the City in an electronic version {PDFj,
making It readily available for reproduction, posting on the City's website, and use in
electronic transmissions as needed.
AA GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT (GPA)
URS will coordinate with the City's Planning Department to amend the City's existing
General Plan Land Use Map, as needed, to change the existing land use designation
on the identified parcels from Open Space to Commercial. Related revisions to text in
the applicable General Plan Elements will also be prepared and included in this task.
