If the Department Head does not support the employee's <br /> request for a classification review, he or she shall notify <br /> the employee of this decision in writing and set forth the <br /> basis for the decision. <br /> <br /> b. If the Department Head does not support the employee's <br /> request, but agrees that some of the duties and/or <br /> responsibilities being performed by the employee are <br /> those of a higher level City classification, he or she can <br /> do the following: <br /> <br /> 1. Return the employee to performance of the duties <br /> and/or responsibilities of their proper classification. <br /> <br /> 2. Eliminate the higher duties and/or responsibilities <br /> being performed by the employee, for which the <br /> City has agreed are those for which it shall provide <br /> higher compensation. <br /> <br /> B. Any employee request for classification review approved by the <br /> Department Head shall be forwarded to the Executive Director of <br /> Personnel Services. The Executive Director of Personnel Services shall <br /> <br /> confirm receipt of the request in writing to the employee. Within sixty <br /> (60) days of receipt of the request, the Executive Director of Personnel <br /> Services shall notify the employee and Department Head of the <br /> decision as to whether a study will be conducted. If the Executive <br /> Director of Personnel Services determines that a study is appropriate, <br /> the Executive Director of Personnel Services shall so notify the <br /> employee and the Department Head in writing and shall provide the <br /> employee and Department Head with an approximate start date for <br /> the study. <br /> <br /> C. All determinations of the Department Head and the Executive Director <br /> of Personnel Services are final. <br /> <br /> D. All studies and study findings shall require City Manager approval <br /> before proceeding. <br /> <br /> E.
