PROJECT OCCUPANCY/OVERCROWDING
For purposes of determining whether overcrowding conditions exist, an occupancy standard
of two persons per sleeping room plus one persob in anon-sleeping room was utilized.
Based on that occupancy. standard, one household to be permanently displaced is
overcrowded. Replacement housing referrals to the occupants of this dwelling will reflect
the need for larger accommodations.
D. REPLACEMENT HOUSING RESOURCES
One of the primary purposes of a Relocation Plan is to demonstrate the availability of
comparable, affordable, decent, safe and sanitary housing prior to the displacement of
residential occupants. In order to adequately relocate the Project households, one rivo-
bedroom non-Section 8 unit and one one-bedrooms Section S unit will be required.
A housing- survey was. made during the third week in November 2fl08 to identify available
comparable, decent, safe.and sanitary units available for rent in close proximity to the Project
site. Based on the results of that survey, it appears that comparable replacement dwelling
units are available to meet the needs of the households, who will be permanently displaced.
Table 2 below outlines the resource study and shows the number of available units and their
corresponding rents.
TABLE 2: Availability and Cost of Replacement Rental housing
Bedroom Size One (Section S) Two
# Found (# needed) 10 {l) 22 (1)
Rent Range Voucher $950-$1,300
Market Median Rent N/A $1,200
Overland.
