HISTORIC REGISTER CATEGORIZATION NO.'S 2001-35 AND 41 THROUGH 42 <br />Filed by the City of Santa Ana to categorize various structures on the Santa Ana <br />Register of Historical Properties. <br />PUBLISHED IN THE REGISTER: April 23, 2001 <br />PUBLICLY NOTICED: April 23, 2001 <br /> RECOMMENDED <br />ADDRESS STRUCTURE NAME CATEGORY <br />1302-1308 North Broadwa 35 La Casa Del Re A artments Ke <br />1314 North Broadway (41) The Seventh Day Adventist Key <br /> Church <br />1320 North Broadwa 42 Weissman-Fla House Ke <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Adopt a resolution approving Historic Register Categorization No.'s 2001-35 and 41 <br />through 42. <br />Irma Hernandez, Assistant Planner, presented the staff report and recommendation. <br />Madame Chair Kings opened the public hearing at 6:09 p.m. and noted receipt of written <br />communications from the Seventh Day Adventist Church requesting a 90-day <br />continuance and from Mr. Albert Scott requesting that the Weissman-Flagg House be <br />removed from the register. <br />Mr. Albert Scott spoke in opposition of designating his property (Weissman-Flagg <br />House) adding that it be taken off the register and was not properly notified. <br />Madame Chair Kings closed the public hearing at 6:14 p.m. <br />Madame Chair clarified that the Mr. Scott's property is currently on the register and that <br />the Commission is taking action only to categorize the property. <br />Commissioner Richardson requested in light of the information received regarding the <br />ruling for religious buildings, to continue designation of The Seventh Day Adventist <br />Church to the next meeting. <br />Motion to adopt a resolution approving Historic Register Categorization No.'s <br />2001-35 and 42; and continue Historic Register Categorization No. 2001-41 to June <br />7, 2001 meeting. <br />MOTION: Giles SECOND: Chinn <br />AYES: Kings, Giles, Corpin, Bustamante, Richardson, Rankin, O'Callaghan (7) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSENT: Chinn, Gartner (2) <br />ABSTENTION: None (0) <br />Madame Chair Kings informed Mr. Scott that the Weissman-Flagg property has been <br />categorized and requested that staff assist him and provide information on removing <br />property from the register. <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION MINUTES 6 MAY 3, 2001 <br />
