11.4 Replace or Remove/Level/Re-Install pitching rubbers as directed. <br />Note: City of Santa Ana shall be responsible for supplying all <br />necessary home plates and/or pitching rubbers to the <br />contractor as needed. <br />11.5 When given direction to complete "as directed" work, contractor shall complete the <br />directed work on the next working day. <br />12.0 Infield Turf Maintenance <br />12.1 Infield turf shall mean all sport turf in the infield, the foul territory of the infield and 36" <br />beyond the infield brickdust skin line/arc. Infield turf shall be mowed two (2) times <br />per week on Monday and Friday. <br />12.1.1 Contractor shall use a "greens" reel mower to provide "putting green" <br />quality finish cut. <br />12.1.2 Infield turf shall be cut between ''/z" and 3/4" per staff's direction. <br />12.1.3 All turf clippings shall be collected and disposed of. <br />12.2 Infield turf shall be irrigated to maximize healthy growth of the turf while conserving <br />water. Over watering will not be acceptable. <br />12.2.1 Contractor shall check and program the automatic irrigation controller <br />minimum one time per week. <br />12.2.2 Contractor shall provide any areas of the turf supplemental watering <br />using a garden hose on an as needed basis to assure a high quality turf <br />infield. <br />12.2.3 Infield turf shall be fertilized two (2) times per year in the first week of <br />January and April per the agronomic plan. <br />12.2.4 Contractor shall distribute the fertilizer evenly using a mechanical <br />broadcaster. No hand distribution will be allowed. <br />12.2.5 Immediately following fertilization the Contractor shall water in the <br />fertilizer to avoid chemically "burning" the turf. <br />12.3 Infield turf shall be aerated using a walk behind piston type aerator as often as deemed <br />necessary by Staff. <br />43 <br />19C-45
