They shall be properly supported by a <br />continuous footing and reinforced with steel bar. <br />PORCHES, STEPS, BALCONIES & RAILING <br />Minimum Standard <br />. Safe and structurally sound. <br />Rehabilitation <br />• Porches, steps, balconies and railing that do not meet <br />the minimum standard shall be replaced. Practical, cost <br />effective repairs are acceptable as long as compliance with <br />the minimum standard will be achieved. <br />Concrete <br />• 2,000 PSI (minimum). <br />Finishes <br />• Zero or low VOC primers, paint and coatings. <br />FOUNDATIONS <br />Minimum Standard <br />• Safe and structurally sound. <br />Rehabilitation <br />• Foundations that do not meet the minimum standard <br />shall be replaced. Practical, cost effective repairs are <br />acceptable as long as compliance with the minimum <br />standard will be achieved. <br />• If the project involves a gut rehab, raised foundations <br />shall be completely insulated. <br />Concrete <br />• 2,000 PSI (minimum). <br />EXTERIOR WALLS <br />Minimum Standard <br />• Safe, structurally sound and weather-tight. <br />Rehabilitation <br />• Exterior walls that do not meet the minimum standard <br />shall be replaced.
