Ages 18 yrs 8c up <br />Ecological restoration is a means of sustaining the diversity of life on Earth and reestablishing healthy ecosystems. <br />This program is for those interested in the restoration and conservation of Orange County wild lands. Successful <br />habitat restoration ensures that native species are protected while non - native species are removed efficiently, and <br />with minimal human impact to the site. Some field labs are held throughout the Cleveland National Forest, Trabuco <br />Ranger District. A $20 materials fee is due at the second class. <br />LOCATION: Santiago Creek Nature Center, 600 E. Using <br />natives eliminates the need for pesticides, which harm beneficial insects and other animals, and reduces our <br />exposure to toxic substances. Memory Lane <br />DAY TIME SESSION <br />Sat 12:OOPM — 1 :30PM 4/23 <br />Learning through Natural Science Illustration: Spring Flowers 510.75 /class <br />Age 5 - 6 yrs <br />Back to Natives presents this children's nature art class, taught by Founder /Director of Art Plantae, Tania Marien. <br />In this class, children will be introduced to natural science illustrator Robin Brickman and her books, A Log's Life, <br />Beaks 1, and Wings. Children will participate in a hands -on nature- themed art project using paper sculpture and <br />gouache (similar to water colors). The young naturalists will also learn about plants, how they grow, and why plants <br />are relevant to our lives. The Learning through Natural Science Illustration Series introduces young naturalists in <br />Kindergarten and 1�' grade to the many ways natural science illustrators teach us about our natural world.
